Note: Button designs are based on typical models and may differ slightly from the actual unit purchased. All functions described are accomplished by the unit; if the unit does not have a feature, there is no corresponding operation. In case of discrepancies between illustrations and descriptions, the "USER'S MANUAL" description prevails.
Operation Buttons
ON/OFF Button: Turns the air conditioner ON and OFF.
MODE Button: Cycles through modes: AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT (if applicable), FAN.
FAN Button: Selects fan speed: AUTO, LOW, MED, HIGH. (Note: Fan speed cannot be adjusted in AUTO or DRY mode).
SLEEP Button: Activates/deactivates the sleep function for comfortable temperature and energy saving. Available in COOL, HEAT, or AUTO modes.
FRESH Button (RG57A4/BGEF): Activates/deactivates the FRESH function, which uses an ionizer/Plasma Dust Collector to remove impurities.
TURBO Button: Activates/deactivates the Turbo function for rapid cooling or heating to the preset temperature.
SELF CLEAN Button (RG57A4/BGEF): Activates/deactivates the Self Clean function.
UP Button (⬆️): Increases the temperature setting by 1°C increments (up to 30°C).
DOWN Button (⬇️): Decreases the temperature setting by 1°C increments (down to 17°C).
SILENCE/FP Button: Activates/deactivates the SILENCE function for quiet operation. Pressing for over 2 seconds activates/deactivates the 'FP' function (heating mode only, operates at 8°C).
TIMER ON Button: Sets the auto-on timer. Increments by 30 minutes (0.5 hours) up to 10 hours, then by 1 hour up to 24 hours. To cancel, set to 0.0.
TIMER OFF Button: Sets the auto-off timer. Increments by 30 minutes (0.5 hours) up to 10 hours, then by 1 hour up to 24 hours. To cancel, set to 0.0.
SWING Button (RG57A4/BGEF): Starts/stops vertical louver movement and sets left/right airflow direction. Changes angle in 6° increments. Holding for over 2 seconds activates auto swing.
SWING Button (RG57A6/BGE): Starts/stops horizontal louver auto swing.
DIRECT Button (RG57A6/BGE): Changes louver movement and sets up/down airflow direction. Changes angle in 6° increments.
FOLLOW ME Button: Activates the Follow Me feature, displaying the actual room temperature. The remote sends this signal every 3 minutes. The feature cancels if no signal is received for 7 minutes.
LED Button: Disables/activates the indoor display screen.
Indicators on LCD
- Mode Display: Shows AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT, FAN.
- ON/OFF Indicator: Displayed when the remote controller is powered ON.
- Battery Display: Indicates battery status (low battery detection).
- ECO: Not available for this unit.
- TIMER ON Indicator (ON): Displayed when TIMER ON time is set.
- TIMER OFF Indicator (OFF): Displayed when TIMER OFF time is set.
- Temperature Display (8.8): Shows set temperature or room temperature, or time under TIMER setting.
- Sleep Mode Indicator: Displayed in Sleep Mode operation.
- Follow Me Indicator: Indicates the air conditioner is operating in Follow Me mode.
- Fresh Indicator: Displayed when the fresh feature is activated (some units).
- Silence Indicator: Displayed when the silence feature is activated.
- Fan Speed Indication: Shows fan speed (Low, Medium, High, Auto).
Note: Figures are for presentation; actual display may show only relative functional signs.
How to Use the Buttons
Auto Operation
- Ensure the unit is plugged in. The OPERATION indicator will flash.
- Press MODE to select Auto.
- Press UP/DOWN to set the desired temperature (17°C-30°C in 1°C increments).
- Press ON/OFF to start the air conditioner.
Note: In Auto mode, the air conditioner automatically selects Cooling, Fan, or Heating. Fan speed is also automatically controlled. If the mode is not comfortable, select a mode manually.
Cooling/Heating/Fan Operation
- Ensure the unit is plugged in.
- Press MODE to select COOL, HEAT (if applicable), or FAN mode.
- Press UP/DOWN to set the desired temperature (17°C-30°C in 1°C increments).
- Press FAN to select fan speed (Auto, Low, Med, High).
- Press ON/OFF to start the air conditioner.
Note: In FAN mode, temperature is not displayed or controlled. Only steps 1, 3, and 4 are applicable.
Dehumidifying Operation
- Ensure the unit is plugged in. The OPERATION indicator will flash.
- Press MODE to select DRY mode.
- Press UP/DOWN to set the desired temperature (17°C-30°C in 1°C increments).
- Press ON/OFF to start the air conditioner.
Note: In DRY mode, fan speed cannot be adjusted; it is automatically controlled.
Timer Operation
Use the TIMER ON and TIMER OFF buttons to set auto-on and auto-off times.
To set the Auto-on time:
- Press TIMER ON. The display shows TIMER ON and the last set time.
- Press TIMER ON repeatedly to set the desired auto-on time. Time increases by 0.5 hours (0-10 hours) and then by 1 hour (10-24 hours).
- After setting, the remote transmits the signal. The "h" indicator appears and disappears after approximately 2 seconds, and the set temperature reappears.
To set the Auto-off time:
- Press TIMER OFF. The display shows TIMER OFF and the last set time.
- Press TIMER OFF repeatedly to set the desired auto-off time. Time increases by 0.5 hours (0-10 hours) and then by 1 hour (10-24 hours).
- After setting, the remote transmits the signal. The "h" indicator appears and disappears after approximately 2 seconds, and the set temperature reappears.
Combined Timer (Setting both ON and OFF timers simultaneously)
- TIMER OFF → TIMER ON (On → Stop → Start): Set to stop the unit at night and start it in the morning. Example: Stop in 2 hours, start in 10 hours. Press TIMER OFF, set 2.0H, press TIMER ON, set 10H.
- TIMER ON → TIMER OFF (Off → Start → Stop): Set to start the unit before waking and stop it after leaving. Example: Start in 2 hours, stop in 5 hours. Press TIMER ON, set 2.0H, press TIMER OFF, set 5.0H.
Caution: Keep the remote controller within range of the indoor unit's receiver for timer operations. The effective timer settings are in 0.5-hour increments up to 10 hours, then 1-hour increments up to 24 hours.
Handling the Remote Controller
Location of the remote controller:
- Operate within 8 meters, pointing towards the receiver. Reception is confirmed by a beep.
- Ensure the path between the remote and receiver is clear of obstructions (curtains, doors).
- Avoid liquid contact and direct sunlight or heat.
- If the indoor unit's receiver is exposed to direct sunlight, use curtains to prevent malfunction.
- If other appliances react to the remote, relocate them or consult your dealer.
- Handle with care; do not drop or place heavy objects on it.
Using the remote controller holder (optional):
- The holder can be attached to a wall or pillar.
- Check signal reception before installation.
- Install with two screws.
- Move the remote up or down in the holder to install or remove.
Replacing batteries:
Replace batteries when the receiving beep is absent or the indicator fades.
- The remote uses two R03/LR03X2 dry batteries.
- Remove the rear cover.
- Remove old batteries and insert new ones, observing correct polarity (+/-).
- Reinstall the cover.
Note: Removing batteries erases programming. Reprogram after inserting new batteries.
Cautions for batteries:
- Do not mix old/new or different types of batteries.
- Remove batteries if the remote will not be used for 2-3 months.
- Dispose of batteries properly according to local regulations.
