Midea Countertop Dishwasher Installation Guide
Installation Methods Overview
This guide provides instructions for installing your Midea Countertop Dishwasher. Two connection methods are available:
- Method 1: Quick Connection (Recommended)
- Method 2: Permanent Connection (Not Recommended)
If your faucet cannot support Method 1, Method 2 can be considered.
Method 1: Quick Connection
Parts Needed (Provided)
The following parts are included with your dishwasher for the quick connection method:
- 1. Inlet Hose: Connects the water supply to the dishwasher.
- 2. Drain Hose: Carries wastewater from the dishwasher.
- 3. Faucet Adaptor: Designed to fit 15/16" male threaded or 55/64" female threaded faucets. Includes two sealing rings for a secure fit.
- 4. Quick Connect: A mechanism for easily attaching and detaching the inlet hose to the faucet adaptor.
Requirement
This method requires a faucet with a removable aerator. The faucet must be compatible with the provided adaptor.
Compatible Faucets: Faucets with removable aerators are suitable. The image shows examples of compatible faucet types.
Incompatible Faucets: Pull-out faucets, spout faucets, and shower pipes are not compatible with this connection method.
Aerator Compatibility:
- Your faucet must have a removable aerator.
- The faucet aerator size should be 15/16" male threaded or 55/64" female threaded. This size is comparable to a standard quarter coin.
Install Steps
- Remove the existing aerator from the faucet.
- Install the provided faucet adaptor onto the faucet.
- Connect the inlet and drain hoses to the dishwasher.
- Connect the dishwasher's power cord to the power supply.
- Attach the quick connect fitting to the faucet adaptor.
- Check all connections to confirm there are no leaks.
IMPORTANT:
- Slowly open the faucet and check for any signs of water leaks at all hose connections.
- To remove the quick connect from the faucet adapter, first close the faucet, then press the [red pressure relief button] to relieve water pressure before detaching the connection.
Method 2: Permanent Connection
Requirement
This method is an alternative if Method 1 is not suitable for your faucet. It requires purchasing additional parts and may involve minor modifications.
You will need to purchase:
- A 3/8 in. Compression Inlet Hose.
- A 3/8 in. Compression x 3/8 in. Garden Hose Elbow.
Optional Modification: You may need to drill a hole on the top of the cabinet or sink to pass through the inlet pipe. (This step is not always necessary).
Parts Needed
Parts to Buy:
- 1. 3/8 in. Compression x 3/8 in. Compression Inlet hose
- 2. 3/8 in. Compression x 3/4 in. Garden Hose Elbow
Part Provided:
- 3. Drain Hose: This hose needs to be detached from the provided quick connect assembly.
Install Steps
- Connect the inlet hose to the 90° elbow fitting.
- Connect the 90° elbow fitting to the dishwasher's inlet valve.
- Connect the other end of the inlet hose to the water supply. Note: You may need to drill a hole on the top of the sink to pass through the inlet hose.
- Connect one side of the drain hose to the dishwasher.
- Position the other side of the drain hose into the sink.
- Check all connections to confirm there are no leaks.
IMPORTANT:
- Please ensure all connections are firm, but do not overtighten.
- Open the water supply and check for any signs of water leaks at all hose connections.
