Install the Camera

1. Installation Precautions

  • Do not face the camera directly towards any light source.
  • Avoid pointing the camera at glass windows or reflective objects, as this can result in poor image performance due to reflections from infrared LEDs, ambient lights, or status lights.
  • Do not mount the camera in shaded areas; point it towards a well-lit area. Ensure the camera and the subject are under similar lighting conditions for better image quality.
  • For optimal performance, install the camera as far as possible from electronic devices like microwaves, televisions, radio phones, and baby monitors to prevent signal interference.
  • Periodically clean the lens with a soft cloth.
  • Ensure the power port is not exposed to water, moisture, dirt, or other obstructions.
  • Do not install the camera where rain or snow might directly hit the lens.
  • The camera can operate in extremely cold conditions down to -10°C. It generates heat when powered on. For outdoor installations, you may power the camera indoors for a few minutes before mounting it outside.

2. Mount the Camera to the Wall

Drill holes according to the mounting template. Use the included anchors if needed. Attach the camera bracket with the provided screws. For WiFi cameras, it is recommended to mount the antenna upward or horizontally for better WiFi connection.

3. Installation Distance, Height and Angle

Distance: For best accuracy, position the camera to capture objects within 5-50 ft (1.5-15 m).

Angle: Tilt the camera down approximately 30°-60° from the horizontal position.

Height: Install the camera 8-16 ft (2.5-5m) above the ground.

Diagram illustrates optimal camera placement: 8-16 ft (2.5-5m) height, with a detection range of 5-50 ft (1.5-15m) and a downward tilt angle.

Note: Human detection accuracy is influenced by factors such as the distance between the person and the camera, the person's height, and the camera's height and angle. Night vision technology also affects detection accuracy and range.
