Product Attributes

Front Panel

The front panel features a multi-function touch button (labeled 1-1), an LED screen (labeled 1-2), a remote control receiver (labeled 1-3), and a volume knob (labeled 1-4).

Rear Panel

The rear panel includes various ports: Balanced XLR outputs (Right Channel 2-1, Left Channel 2-2), unbalanced RCA outputs (Left Channel 2-3, Right Channel 2-4), coaxial input (2-5), optical input (2-6), Bluetooth input (2-7), USB input (2-8), 12V Trigger In (2-9), 12V Trigger Out (2-10), AC power input (2-11), and a power switch (2-12).

*Note: XLR connector pin definition: 1. GND, 2. +, 3.-

Display Indicators

The display (labeled 3-4) shows input source (3-1), PCM/DSD format (3-2), channel balance indication (3-3), mute status (3-5), volume unit (3-6), sampling frequency unit (3-7), and output status (3-8).

Remote Control

The remote control has buttons for Standby [power], Volume Up [volume-up], Previous Input [input-prev], Invalid Button, Filter Setting [filter], Auto On/Standby [auto-standby], Mute [mute], OK Button [ok], Next Input [input-next], Volume Down [volume-down], Output Channel Switching [output-switch], Channel Balance Setting [balance-setting], and Brightness [brightness].

Note: *L-A has the same brightness as L-2. Differences are that if no operation occurs for 30 seconds in L-A mode, the screen automatically turns off and only the current input is displayed. Pressing any button can turn the screen on. *When E70 VELVET is in Bluetooth input state, press and hold the brightness button for 3 seconds to disconnect the existing Bluetooth connection and force it into Bluetooth pairing state.

Operation

Channel Balance Adjustment

Adjust channel balance using the left/right buttons on the remote or the front panel knob. Press OK to reset balance. Settings are saved and exited after 5 seconds of inactivity. Adjustment range: 0.0 dB (balanced), L+0.5-9.5 dB or R+0.5-9.5 dB.

Two examples of volume adjustment are shown, displaying '0.5 dB' for both left and right channels.

Detailed Operation

Note: The above data is the result of laboratory tests conducted by TOPPING at AC220V 50Hz with E70 VELVET set to 5V output mode.

Power On/Off and Standby

(1) Power On: Upon connecting to power, the E70 VELVET enters standby mode, indicated by a light spot on the screen.

(2) Setting Standby Mode: While operating, press and hold the multi-function touch button on the front panel to enter standby mode. A short press exits standby. Alternatively, use the standby button [power] on the remote control.

12V Trigger In/Out

The 12V Trigger In/Out allows the E70 VELVET to be activated by other devices, or to activate other devices via a 3.5mm mini phone cable. The connected device must be equipped with 12V Trigger In/Out.

Automatic Power On and Standby

Three options are available, configurable via the settings menu or the AUTO button [auto-standby] on the remote:

Volume Adjustment

(1) Mute On/Off: Press the mute button [mute] on the remote to mute. Press again or adjust volume to exit mute.

(2) Volume Adjustment: Adjust volume directly using the front panel knob or the volume up [volume-up]/down [volume-down] buttons on the remote. Holding the volume buttons on the remote allows for rapid adjustment; exercise caution to protect your hearing.

Note: In DAC mode, the volume is fixed at 0 dB and volume adjustment is not applicable.

Input Channel Switching

Switch input sources by pressing the multi-function touch button on the front panel or the 'Switch to previous input' [input-prev] and 'Switch to next input' [input-next] buttons on the remote.

Output Channel Switching

Switch output channels using the 'Output channel switching' [output-switch] button on the remote or the front panel knob.

Settings Menu

Entering the Settings Menu: Turn the power switch to 'off'. Press and hold the front panel knob, then turn the power switch to 'on' to enter the E70 VELVET settings menu.

Changing and Saving Settings

(1) Front Panel Knob: Press the knob to enter the next setting item. Rotate the knob to adjust parameters. Press and hold the knob until "8-8" appears on the screen to save settings.

(2) Remote Control: Use the volume up/down buttons to navigate to previous/next settings. Use the left/right buttons to adjust parameters. Press the OK button [ok]; "8-8" will appear on the E70 VELVET display, indicating the setting has been saved.

Factory Reset

In standby mode, rotate the front panel knob counter-clockwise until the screen is fully lit to restore factory settings.
