Detailed Operation
Note: The above data is the result of laboratory tests conducted by TOPPING at AC220V 50Hz with E70 VELVET set to 5V output mode.
Power On/Off and Standby
(1) Power On: Upon connecting to power, the E70 VELVET enters standby mode, indicated by a light spot on the screen.
(2) Setting Standby Mode: While operating, press and hold the multi-function touch button on the front panel to enter standby mode. A short press exits standby. Alternatively, use the standby button [power] on the remote control.
12V Trigger In/Out
The 12V Trigger In/Out allows the E70 VELVET to be activated by other devices, or to activate other devices via a 3.5mm mini phone cable. The connected device must be equipped with 12V Trigger In/Out.
Automatic Power On and Standby
Three options are available, configurable via the settings menu or the AUTO button [auto-standby] on the remote:
- A-1: Power on/standby based on input status (default). If no input is connected or the signal is invalid for 1 minute, it enters standby. It returns to working state upon detecting a valid signal.
- A-2: Power on/standby based on trigger signal. If the E70 VELVET trigger input is connected to a 12V trigger output of another device, its power state can be controlled by that device. The E70 VELVET remains in standby until Trigger In detects a signal change from 0V to 12V. When it reverts to 0V, the E70 VELVET returns to standby mode.
- A-C: This function is disabled.
Volume Adjustment
(1) Mute On/Off: Press the mute button [mute] on the remote to mute. Press again or adjust volume to exit mute.
(2) Volume Adjustment: Adjust volume directly using the front panel knob or the volume up [volume-up]/down [volume-down] buttons on the remote. Holding the volume buttons on the remote allows for rapid adjustment; exercise caution to protect your hearing.
Note: In DAC mode, the volume is fixed at 0 dB and volume adjustment is not applicable.
Input Channel Switching
Switch input sources by pressing the multi-function touch button on the front panel or the 'Switch to previous input' [input-prev] and 'Switch to next input' [input-next] buttons on the remote.
Output Channel Switching
Switch output channels using the 'Output channel switching' [output-switch] button on the remote or the front panel knob.
Settings Menu
Entering the Settings Menu: Turn the power switch to 'off'. Press and hold the front panel knob, then turn the power switch to 'on' to enter the E70 VELVET settings menu.
Settings
Changing and Saving Settings
(1) Front Panel Knob: Press the knob to enter the next setting item. Rotate the knob to adjust parameters. Press and hold the knob until "8-8" appears on the screen to save settings.
(2) Remote Control: Use the volume up/down buttons to navigate to previous/next settings. Use the left/right buttons to adjust parameters. Press the OK button [ok]; "8-8" will appear on the E70 VELVET display, indicating the setting has been saved.
