1. Adjusting Latch Length
A diagram shows the latch mechanism, illustrating how to adjust its length to fit the door.
2. Check Door Dimensions
Diagrams illustrate door preparation: placing and fastening the latch, and checking door dimensions. Measurements are provided for backset (distance from door edge to center of hole), hole diameters (3/8" [10mm] for the lock body, 2-1/8" [54mm] for the deadbolt), and door thickness (1-1/2" to 1-7/8" [38mm-48mm]). An annotation notes that an extra hole may need to be drilled to fasten the door lock.
3. Install Latch
Diagrams show the steps for installing the latch: marking the faceplate outline on the door edge, chiseling 1mm-2mm deep for alignment, inserting the latch, and securing it with two wood screws. The arc direction of the latch should face the outer door.
4. Install Plate
Diagrams show the process of installing the strike plate into the door jamb, securing it with wood screws after aligning it with the door frame.
5. Install Keypad
Diagrams illustrate installing the keypad. The lever is inserted into the keypad inner plate. The IC wire, latch link bar, and double-screws are passed through the holes on the deadbolt. The IC wire should be placed under the latch. After installing the front pad, the handle spindle should be rolled to test its operation. If it doesn't work, the front pad should be removed, the latch link bar rotated 90 degrees, and re-installation attempted. The IC wire and latch link bar are passed to the mounting plate and secured with screws. The IC line placement is critical to avoid the lock latch going out of control.
6. Identify Door Handing
Diagrams show how to identify a "Left-handle" door (hinges on the left) and a "Right-handle" door (hinges on the right).
7. Install Receiver Module
Diagrams show how to remove the battery cover by pressing a spring button with a sharp object and pushing the cover up.
8. Insert Battery and Install Back Battery Cover
Diagrams show connecting the IC wires and installing the receiver module with screws. Four AA 1.5V alkaline batteries are inserted, and the battery cover is slid back onto the receiver module.
Remarks:
- (1) Alkaline batteries are recommended for stable power supply; non-alkaline batteries may reduce performance.
- (2) All settings are retained in memory even if batteries are dead. A micro USB can power the lock and activate the keyboard via the ports under the lock.
