1. Products Receiving
All products undergo strict testing and inspection. Upon receiving the PLCs, perform the following checks:
- Verify that the SAVCH PLC and its instruction manual are included in the package.
- Confirm the model number matches your purchase order.
- Check for any damage incurred during transportation and delivery. Do not connect to power supply if damaged.
If any of these checks are unsatisfactory, contact your SAVCH ELECTRIC representative for prompt resolution.
2. Model Description
The SAVCH E/S series PLC MPU is a Programmable Logic Controller. The model designation indicates specific features:
- Product Series: E (Economic PLC MPU), S (Standard PLC MPU)
- I/O Point: Options include Built-IO (10, 16, 24, 32 points) and optional 48, 40, 60 points.
- Ethernet Port: 'e' denotes a built-in Ethernet port.
- Power Supply: 'D' indicates 24V DC.
- Output Type: 'R' for Relay, 'T' for Transistor.
- Module Type: 'M' for Main module, 'E' for Extension module.

4. Indicator Description
The PLC features several status indicators:
- PWR: Power indicator (Green). Continuous ON indicates power is good; OFF indicates a power error.
- RUN: Running indicator (Green). Continuous ON means the PLC is in running state; OFF means the PLC is shut down.
- COM: Communication indicator (Green). Flickering indicates the PLC is communicating, with flicker frequency showing communication speed; OFF means no communication.
- ERR: Error indicator (Red). Continuous ON signifies hardware failure; Flickering indicates software failure; OFF means the state is normal.

9. Digital Input / Output (DI/DO) Wiring Diagram
The PLC supports various input and output wiring configurations:
- NPN Internal Power Input: Digital inputs are connected to NPN sensors/switches, powered by the PLC's internal +5V or +24V supply, with the PLC's 24G terminal as the common ground.
- NPN External Power Input: Digital inputs are connected to NPN sensors/switches powered by an external +24V source, with the PLC's 24G terminal serving as the common return.
- PNP Internal Power Input: Digital inputs are connected to PNP sensors/switches, powered by the PLC's internal +5V or +24V supply, with the PLC's 24G terminal as the common positive.
- PNP External Power Input: Digital inputs are connected to PNP sensors/switches powered by an external +24V source, with the PLC's GND terminal acting as the common return.
- AC / DC Relay Output: Digital outputs are configured as relay contacts, suitable for switching AC or DC loads.
- DC NPN Transistor Output: Digital outputs are configured as NPN transistor outputs for switching DC loads.
10. MPU Terminal Wiring Diagram
Detailed diagrams illustrate the terminal block layouts for various SAVCH E/S series PLC models, including AC POWER (L, N), DC POWER (+24V, 24G, GND), Digital Inputs (X0-X15 or more), Digital Outputs (Y0-Y15 or more), and RS485 communication ports. Specific terminal assignments vary by model number (e.g., SMC-E10MR/T(-e), SMC-S32MRD/TD(-e)).
11. Programming Cable Wiring
A programming cable connects a computer's RS-232 DB9 female port to the PLC's COM1 port using a 4-core S terminal male connector. The standard connection involves linking the computer's Rx pin to the PLC's Tx pin, the computer's Tx pin to the PLC's Rx pin, and the computer's GND pin to the PLC's GND pin.
12. Address Setting
For SAVCH PLCs with an Ethernet port, the default IP address is 192.168.1.111, with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and a gateway of 192.168.1.1. Hardware DIP dial switches allow address setting within the range of 1-15, with a default address of 1. For a larger address range (1-254), the 'soft address' can be configured via the PLC parameter option in the software menu after connection. The soft address takes precedence over the hardware dial address.
13. Power Supply Wiring
The PLC supports both AC and DC power supplies. Key notes for power supply wiring include:
- AC Input: Use 100~240VAC, 50/60Hz. Connect one AC input wire to terminal-L and the other to terminal-N. For safety, ensure correct Live and Neutral wire connections.
- Warning: Connecting AC110V or AC220V to the +24V terminal or input points will permanently damage the PLC.
- Grounding: Use wires of 2.5mm² or above for the MPU's grounding.
14. Mounting and Installation
The PLC should be secured within an enclosed cabinet. Ensure a minimum clearance of 50mm around the unit on all sides for adequate heat dissipation. The unit can be mounted on a standard 35mm DIN rail or using its screw mounting holes (4.5mm diameter). Avoid mounting the PLC near the top or bottom of the cabinet, or in a vertical orientation, to optimize heat dissipation.
Extension Module Wiring: Modules connect via a bus. An extension cable is used for each module. To connect modules, turn over the right side of the extended interface of the last module, plug in the extension cable, and press down the cover. The extended interface on the right side is reserved for the next module. Connect all extension modules sequentially.
