ActronAir Warranty Terms and Conditions
This express warranty covers the Product described on the Warranty Card against defects in design, materials, and workmanship for the period specified in the table below. The warranty period commences upon the Product's commissioning. If the commissioning date is more than 12 months after the purchase date, the warranty period starts 12 months after the purchase date.
Product defects covered by this warranty will be repaired or replaced at ActronAir's discretion without cost to the owner for parts or the Product itself. Repairs or replacements will be performed during normal business hours by ActronAir or an authorized repair agent. Charges may apply for out-of-hours service.
Any part or Product replaced under this warranty will be covered for the remainder of the original warranty period or 12 months from the completion of the repair, whichever is greater.
Accessory items supplied by ActronAir, such as ActronAir zone barrels and controls, share the same warranty period as the main product, provided they are purchased concurrently with the finished goods unit. Accessory items purchased and fitted after the original installation or at a later date will be subject to the Spare Parts warranty period.
Except where inconsistent with statutory rights, all other warranties and ActronAir's liability for any direct or consequential loss or damage (including loss of profits) are expressly excluded. Goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Consumers are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Goods must be repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Note: Australian consumer law rights are limited if the purchaser is not a 'consumer' (defined as purchasing goods for less than $40,000 or for personal, domestic, or household use).
THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:
- Damage, problems, or unsatisfactory performance caused by faulty or incorrect external electrical wiring, incorrect power supply, voltage fluctuations, internet coverage, over transients, or electromagnetic interference not originating within the Product. This includes issues from solar, battery, or generator power supply fluctuations, and performance problems due to mismatched indoor/outdoor units.
- Damage or problems resulting from installation or servicing by unlicensed personnel, incorrect application, installation, commissioning, or servicing.
- Damage or problems caused by the use of accessories, components, modifications, or Products not supplied by ActronAir.
- Damage or problems caused by storm, fire, flood, hail, atmospheric fallout, vandalism, misuse, negligence, Acts of God, earthquake, war, vermin, foreign matter entering the Product (e.g., dirt, moisture), or any other external agency.
- Damage or deterioration of internal/external components or refrigeration coils due to normal weathering or corrosive atmospheric conditions (e.g., sea air), or unsatisfactory performance resulting from normal weathering.
- Damage or deterioration to the heat exchange coil, even with additional ActronAir coil coat treatment, if subjected to conditions not covered in the applicable sales literature.
- Consumable items, including damage caused by them (e.g., batteries, filters, belts), unless the item is shown to be defective at the time of purchase.
- Damage or problems caused by operating the equipment in environments where:
- Climatic comfort of humans is not the primary function (e.g., Battery rooms, Server rooms, Machine rooms).
- Operating conditions are outside those specified in ActronAir's technical sales literature.
- Misapplication of the Product.
- Incorrect use or installation of any consumable.
- Failure to check and clear obstructions in indoor/outdoor sections, including air filters, vents, coils, and drainage pipes.
- Exhausted, leaking, or used batteries.
- Outdoor units located near sensitive areas (e.g., bedrooms, neighbours' dwellings) causing noise complaints due to location.
- Costs associated with gaining acceptable service access to Products installed in restricted or unsafe locations (e.g., high, tight spaces, inaccessible areas), including crane or scaffolding costs.
- Products that have been reinstalled at a location other than the original location.
- Freight charges, including insurance, or technician travel costs for repairs performed outside the normal service area of ActronAir Dealers/Service Agents.
- Products installed in transportable or mobile applications (e.g., caravans, portable homes, boats).
THE PURCHASER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Correct operation and regular maintenance of the Product as noted. Correction of any Non-Product fault or problem is not covered by this warranty.
- Operating the Product in accordance with the operating instructions.
- Carrying out periodic maintenance by a suitably licensed/qualified person: annually for residential, and every 3 months for commercial (depending on usage).
- Regular cleaning of air filter(s) and replacement where necessary.
- Ensuring air inlet and outlet on the outdoor unit are kept clear of obstructions (e.g., dirt, leaves, plants).
- Ensuring the condensate drain in the roof is kept clean.
- Replacement of exhausted batteries.
- Applying additional corrosion protection if the Product is installed in a corrosive environment (e.g., industrial pollution, sea air), which includes regular washing down of the outdoor unit, panels, and coils with a mild detergent.
For goods supplied under contract where the price exceeds $40,000, or the goods are not ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic, or household use, ActronAir's liability for defects in design, materials, or workmanship is limited to: replacing the Product or supplying equivalent Product; repairing the Product; or paying the cost of replacement or repair, unless the owner establishes that this limitation of liability would not be fair and reasonable.
Product described as Heat Reclaim Systems, comprising ActronAir manufactured air conditioning equipment and goods supplied or manufactured by others, are subject to the following: ActronAir manufactured equipment has a 2-year warranty. No extensions apply. Goods supplied by others for the Heat Reclaim Function will carry the warranty provided by their respective supplier or manufacturer.
