MEAN WELL GST36B Series 36W AC-DC Reliable Green Industrial Adaptor
Overview
The MEAN WELL GST36B series is a highly reliable, 36W desktop-style single-output green industrial adaptor. It features a Class II power unit (no FG), a standard IEC320-C8 AC inlet, and accepts a wide input voltage range from 85VAC to 264VAC. The series offers various output voltages from 5VDC to 48VDC, catering to diverse consumer electronic device requirements. With up to 90% efficiency and extremely low no-load power consumption (<0.075W), the GST36B series complies with stringent energy standards such as EISA 2007/DoE, NRCan, Korea K-MEPS, AU/NZ MEPS, EU ErP, and CoC Version 5. It utilizes a 94V-0 flame retardant plastic case for double insulation, ensuring electrical shock prevention, and is certified for international safety regulations.

Derating Curve
The derating curve graph shows the relationship between Load (%) on the Y-axis and Ambient Temperature (°C) on the X-axis. For 230VAC input, the adaptor can operate at 100% load up to approximately 50°C, after which derating is required. For other input voltages, the derating may differ.
Static Characteristics
The static characteristics graph illustrates the output load capacity (Load %) on the Y-axis against the input voltage (VAC) at 60Hz on the X-axis. The adaptor maintains full load capacity across the typical operating input voltage range of 85VAC to 264VAC.
Mechanical Specification
The unit features an AC inlet connector (IEC320-C8) on one side. A power LED indicator is present on the case. The name plate contains product information. The output cable is specified as UL2468 16AWG, with a standard length of 1000±50mm. The main dimensions of the unit are 79mm (Length) x 54mm (Width) x 33mm (Height).
DC Output Plug Options
The standard DC output plug is the P1J type, featuring a 5.5mm outer diameter, 2.1mm inner diameter, and 11±0.5mm length, with center positive (+) and a tuning fork design. Pin assignment is typically 'Outside: C+' and 'Inside: +'.

Optional DC plug styles include:
- Tuning Fork Style: Various types like P1I, P1L, P1M, P1IR, P1JR, P1LR, P1MR, with different OD, ID, and L dimensions. Some are available as quick adapters.
- Barrel Style: Types P2I, P2J, P2L, P2M, P2IR, P2JR, P2LR, P2MR, with varying OD, ID, and L dimensions. These are generally available as quick adapters.
- Lock Style: Includes types like P2S(S761K), P2K(761K), P2C(S760K), P2D(760K) (SWITCHCRAFT original or equivalent), featuring specific OD, ID, and L dimensions, and are available as quick adapters.

Notes
- All parameters are specified at 230VAC input, rated load, 25°C, 70% RH ambient.
- DC voltage: The output voltage is set at the point measured by the plug terminal and 50% load.
- Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz by using a 12" twisted pair terminated with a 0.1uF & 47uF capacitor.
- Tolerance: Includes set up tolerance, line regulation, and load regulation.
- Line regulation is measured from low line to high line at rated load.
- Load regulation is measured from 10% to 100% rated load.
- Derating may be needed under low input voltage. Please check the derating curve for more details.
- The demand for Malaysia safety is processed with the order no. GST36B-SIRIM by request. Please contact MEAN WELL for details.
- The power supply is considered as an independent unit, but the final equipment still needs to re-confirm that the whole system complies with the EMC directives.
