Dolby Digital Surround Sound: Offers an ultimate experience in home theater surround with six discrete channels of digital CD sound. Each channel carries its own sound, providing a unique role for each speaker.

DTS Surround Sound: Offers superior digital audio performance with more clarity and definition, especially for higher tones, due to limited sound compression and 20-bit resolution.

Digital Sound Processing via Tetra CORE: The Philips Tetra Core IC decodes Dolby Digital, DTS, and Dolby Prologic surround sound with high processing power and 24-bit resolution. It features automatic source detection and digital bass cross-over filters.

Natural Surround: Creates a more realistic surround sound impression by generating phantom speakers using psycho-acoustical sound encoding algorithms, giving the impression of being surrounded by a 'wall of sound'.
