The PreSonus StudioLive SE 24 is a 40-channel small-format digital mixer featuring a full complement of analog I/O packed into a 25-fader chassis. It offers 25 mix buses, integrated recording capabilities, advanced audio networking, and a comprehensive professional software suite. Equipped with 32 studio-grade, fully recallable XMAX-R preamps and vintage-style EQ and compression options on every channel and bus, the StudioLive SE 24 enhances mixing efficiency and sound quality for both live performance and studio recording.

Its split-fader workflow options allow users to manage their mix across two efficient fader layers, providing access to mix outputs and additional faders. The mixer's 16 FlexMixes can be configured as subgroups, auxes, or matrix mixes, offering flexibility for complex routing scenarios, including front- and side-fill mixes for large venues or producer mixes for broadcast applications. It also includes 24 DCA groups, 4 dedicated subgroup mixes, and 4 FX mixes with stereo returns and dedicated processing for lush reverbs and delays.

Console Layout Description

The StudioLive SE 24 features a comprehensive front panel designed for intuitive control. It includes 25 physical faders for channel and bus control, arranged in two primary banks. Each channel strip typically offers gain, EQ, dynamics, and level controls, alongside mute, solo, and routing buttons. The master section includes dedicated controls for main outputs and monitor mixes. The unit also incorporates a central display for deeper menu navigation and parameter adjustment, alongside a variety of input/output connectors on the rear panel.

Fat Channel Processing Description

The dynamic Fat Channel on the StudioLive SE 24 provides extensive EQ and dynamics processing for each input and bus. It features 21 included vintage EQ and classic compressor Fat Channel plug-in models, offering a wide range of tonal shaping capabilities. Users can easily insert these processors to enhance their mixes, providing access to parameters like gain, threshold, ratio, attack, release, and EQ frequency/gain/Q controls for detailed sound sculpting.

Recording and Software Integration

For recording, the StudioLive SE 24 is equipped with an integrated, continuously bidirectional 64x64 USB 2.0 audio interface and an onboard 34x34 SD recorder. It comes bundled with PreSonus Capture multitracking software featuring automated Virtual Soundcheck, and a perpetual license for Studio One Pro. Channels can seamlessly switch between analog, USB, SD, and AVB sources, simplifying the integration of various audio gear.

The mixer is part of a broader ecosystem, controllable via Universal Control software on computers or tablets for remote mixing and offline adjustments. PreSonus Metro software allows internet-based control with real-time audio monitoring from anywhere.
