VIKVIZ Camera Network Settings

1. Device Search Tool

Download and install the VIKVIZ "AjDevTools" software tool. You can find it at: http://www.vikviz.com/NewsDetail/2520633.html.

Alternatively, you can use the Hikvision "SADP" tool. Access it via: https://www.hikvision.com/en/search/?q=SADP.

The SADP for windows software is a user-friendly, installation-free tool for searching active online devices within your subnet. It displays device information and allows modification of basic network settings.

2. Connect the Camera to Your Network

Ensure the computer and camera are on the same Local Area Network (LAN). Use a network cable for connection; Wi-Fi is not recommended.

3. Check the Camera's IP with SADP Tool or AjDevTool

After installing either the SADP Tool or AjDevTool, open the software and click "Start Search".

  1. Search for the IP address of the camera.
  2. Query the IP address of the camera.

AjDevTools Interface Description: The software displays a list of found network devices. Columns include IP Address, HTTP port, Model (e.g., PG21551), Title Name, Firmware Version, and Status. It also offers batch operations such as Batch Reset, Batch Reboot, IP Batch Setting, and Firmware Upgrade.

SADP Tool Interface Description: The SADP tool lists online devices, showing Device Type (e.g., HK-IPCAM-HI), IPv4 Address (e.g., 192.168.0.123), Status (Active), Port, Software Version, and Device Serial No. A panel for modifying network parameters is also present.

4. View Your Computer IP

To check your computer's network configuration:

  1. Query your computer's IP address.
  2. Open the Network and Sharing Center.
  3. Navigate to Details.
  4. View your computer's IPv4 Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway.

Network Connection Details Description: This typically shows your computer's network adapter details, including its IPv4 Address (e.g., 192.168.1.11), IPv4 Subnet Mask (e.g., 255.255.255.0), and IPv4 Default Gateway (e.g., 192.168.1.1).

5. Modify the IP Address

To ensure the camera and computer are on the same network segment, you may need to modify the IP address.

AjDevTool Setting Method

  1. Select the IP address of the camera in the AjDevTools list.
  2. Click "IP Batch Manual Setting IP address".
  3. Modify the camera's IP address to be in the same network segment as your computer's IP address, or select DHCP to obtain an IP address automatically.
  4. Select OK to confirm the changes.

AjDevTools IP Address Setting Dialog Description: This dialog allows setting the IP address, Netmask, Gateway, and DNS servers for the camera, either manually or via DHCP.

SADP Tool Setting Method

  1. Select the IP address of the camera in the SADP tool.
  2. Modify the IP address and gateway of the camera.
  3. Enter the camera's password (default is often 123456).
  4. Select Modify to complete the parameter modification.

SADP Tool Modify Network Parameters Description: The SADP tool's "Modify Network Parameters" interface allows users to input the camera's serial number, desired IP address, subnet mask, gateway, HTTP port, and administrator password.

6. Login the IE Page

Access the camera's web interface by double-clicking the camera's IP address in the search tool or by entering the IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.110) into your web browser's URL bar. Log in using the username "admin" and the password "123456".

IP Camera Web Login Interface Description: A standard web login page prompts for Username, Password, and Language selection before allowing access.

Live View Interface Description: After logging in, users can view the live feed from the camera and access controls for PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom), Focus, and other camera settings.
