ShanWan Q36 Wireless Game Controller
Overview
The ShanWan Q36 is a versatile wireless game controller designed for compatibility with multiple platforms including Android, iOS, Windows, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
Controller Layout and Features
The Q36 controller features the following components:
- Directional Pad (D-pad): For directional input.
- Action Buttons: X, Y, A, B buttons for game actions.
- System Buttons: [-/View Button] and [+/Menu Button] for system functions.
- Shoulder Buttons: [GL/L2 Button] and [HR/R2 Button].
- Reset Hole: For resetting the controller.
- Type-C Charging Port: For charging the controller.
- Mode Switch: A slider to select the operating mode (X-Input, Switch, PS4).
- Pair/Power Button: Used for Bluetooth pairing and powering the controller on/off.
- LED Indicator: Provides status information (pairing, connection, charging).
Note: The D-pad and Left joystick functions can be swapped by pressing the [+/Menu Button] and [-/View Button] simultaneously.
Connection Modes
Android / iOS / Windows
Compatibility: Android 9.0+, iOS 13.0+, Windows 10 and above.
Mode Switch: Set to [X-Input Mode] (marked 'X').
First-time Pairing:
- Press the [Pair Button] to power on the controller; the LED will flash rapidly.
- On your device (Android, iOS, or Windows), enable Bluetooth and search for devices. Connect to the device named "XBOX Wireless Controller".
- Upon successful connection, the LED will turn solid blue.
Subsequent Connections:
- Press the [Pair Button] to power on the controller; the LED will flash blue slowly.
- The controller will automatically reconnect to the last paired device. The LED will turn solid blue upon successful reconnection.
Powering Off: Press the [Pair Button] to turn off the controller.
Switch Mode (Switch Pro Controller Emulation)
Note: This mode does not support NFC functionality.
Mode Switch: Set to [Switch Mode] (marked 'S').
First-time Pairing:
- Press the [Pair Button] to power on the controller; the LED will flash rapidly.
- On your Nintendo Switch console, navigate to System Settings > Controllers and Sensors > Change Grip/Order.
- Follow the on-screen prompts on the Switch to pair the controller.
- Upon successful connection, the LED will turn solid green.
Subsequent Connections:
- Press the [Pair Button] to power on the controller.
- The controller will automatically reconnect to the Switch console. The LED will turn solid green upon successful reconnection.
Powering Off: Press the [Pair Button] to turn off the controller.
Switch Mode (Joy-Con Emulation)
Mode Switch: Set to [Switch Mode] (marked 'S').
First-time Pairing:
- For Left Joy-Con: Press and hold [L2 Button] + [View Button] simultaneously and power on the controller; the LED will flash rapidly.
- For Right Joy-Con: Press and hold [R2 Button] + [Menu Button] simultaneously and power on the controller; the LED will flash rapidly.
- On your Nintendo Switch console, navigate to System Settings > Controllers and Sensors > Change Grip/Order.
- Follow the on-screen prompts on the Switch to pair the controller.
- Upon successful connection, the Left Joy-Con LED will turn solid white, and the Right Joy-Con LED will turn solid cyan.
Subsequent Connections:
- Press the [Pair Button] to power on the controller.
- The controller will automatically reconnect to the Switch console.
Powering Off: Press the [Pair Button] to turn off the controller.
PS4 Mode
Note: This mode does not support touchpad functionality.
Mode Switch: Set to [PS4 Mode] (marked 'P').
First-time Pairing:
- Connect the controller to the PS4 console using a Type-C USB cable. The LED will flash rapidly.
- Press the [Pair Button] to initiate connection.
- Upon successful connection, the LED will turn solid red.
Subsequent Connections:
- Press the [Pair Button] to power on the controller; the LED will flash red slowly.
- The controller will automatically reconnect to the PS4 console. The LED will turn solid red upon successful reconnection.
Powering Off: Press the [Pair Button] to turn off the controller.
Note for High-Version Android/iOS: Pressing the [Pair Button] during power-on can help connect to higher versions of Android or iOS.
Firmware Upgrade
To upgrade the controller's firmware:
- Ensure the controller is powered off.
- Press and hold the [L Button] + [X Button] + [View Button] simultaneously.
- Connect the controller via USB to an Android or Apple phone. The device should be recognized as "GamepadSpace-Q36 Bluetooth device".
- Download and install the "GamepadSpace App" from your mobile device's app market.
- Follow the instructions within the GamepadSpace App to perform the firmware upgrade.
Charging, Sleep, and Wake-up Functions
- Charging: While charging, the LED indicator will blink slowly. When the battery is fully charged, the LED will remain solid.
- Sleep Mode:
- In pairing state: The controller enters sleep mode if not paired within 2 minutes.
- In reconnection state: The controller enters sleep mode if not reconnected within 1 minute.
- In connected state: The controller enters sleep mode if not used for 15 minutes.
- Wake-up: Press the [Pair Button] to wake up the controller and initiate reconnection.
- Low Battery: When the battery level is low, the LED indicator will flash rapidly to alert the user.
Gyro Calibration
To calibrate the gyroscope:
- Ensure the controller is powered off.
- Place the controller on a flat, level surface.
- Press and hold the [+/Menu Button] and [-/View Button] simultaneously.
