Autel Quickstart Guide
This quickstart guide applies to the MaxiSys® MS908S II, MS908S Pro II, MS906 Pro, MS906 Pro-TS, MS906 Pro2-TS, MS909EV, MS909, MS919, MS908S3 and MaxiCOM® MK908 II, MK908 Pro II, MK906 Pro, MK906 Pro-TS, MK906 Pro2-TS, MK906S PRO, MK906S PRO-TS and MK906S PRO2-TS. Ensure your Wi-Fi network is accessible and has a stable connection.
Connecting to Wi-Fi
Follow these steps to connect your Autel device to a Wi-Fi network.
From the System Status Icons:
- Tap on the lower-right corner of the screen to open the Quick Settings menu. This menu provides access to various system controls.
- A larger menu with additional options, including Wi-Fi settings, will appear.
- Long press the Wi-Fi icon ? to adjust the Wi-Fi settings.
- Ensure Wi-Fi is turned on. Select your local network from the list and enter the required password. The Wi-Fi icon ? will appear in the status bar when the connection is established.
From the Android Screen:
- From the Android home screen, select the 'Settings' ⚙️ icon.
- Ensure Wi-Fi is turned on in the Wi-Fi settings.
- Select your local network from the list of available networks.
- Enter your network password to connect to the Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi icon ? will appear in the lower-right corner of the screen once the connection is successful.
Tool Registration
Registering your tool is essential for accessing software updates and full functionality. You can register via PC or directly on the tablet.
Via PC:
- Visit https://pro.autel.com.
- Click 'Register' to create your Autel ID. If you already have an Autel ID, log in and skip to step 5.
- Enter your personal information. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.
- Enter your email address and click 'Request'. You will receive an email from Autel with a verification code. Copy this code into the provided input box. Set a password for your account and confirm it. Read and accept the Autel User Service Agreement and Autel Privacy Policy by checking the box. After entering all information, click 'Register'.
- Once your account is successfully registered, you will be redirected to the Product Registration screen. If not, click the button on the screen to proceed.
- Enter your tablet's serial number and password (found in Settings > About) and the CAPTCHA code as shown. Click 'Submit' to complete your product registration.
Via Tablet:
- Tap the 'Autel User Center' icon on the Job Menu.
- If you do not have an Autel account, tap 'Register' on the Log-in screen. The registration screen will appear. If you already have an Autel ID, log in and skip to step 3.
- Enter your personal information. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required. Input the verification code sent to your email, then set and confirm your password. Read and accept the Autel User Service Agreement and Autel Privacy Policy. After entering all information, tap 'Register'.
- Once your account is successfully registered, you will enter the main menu of the Autel User Center. Select 'Device Management' from the main menu.
- Tap the 'Link Device' button on the upper-right corner of the Device Management screen. The serial number and password of the device will automatically appear on the Link Device screen. Tap 'Link' to complete the product registration.
Download Software Updates
Software updates are available for FREE for the first year from the date of purchase. Your tool must be registered to download updates.
- Connect your tablet to Wi-Fi ? and plug it into a power source.
- Select the 'Update' ⬆️ button to view a list of available updates. Tap 'Get' or 'Update All' to start downloading updates as needed.
Extend Initial Year of Coverage & Printing Installation & Setup
Extend Coverage:
Purchase to extend tablet warranty and software subscription coverage for one year with the 'Total Care Program' (TCP). Don't wait for your initial year to expire to limit downtime and ensure continued vehicle coverage.

Printing Installation & Setup:
Works with any printer with a Wi-Fi connection. No need for special software or drivers on the tablet.
- Make sure your Windows PC ? and tablet ? are on the same Wi-Fi network ?.
- On your computer, go to www.autel.com, select 'Support' > 'Downloads' > 'Autel Update Tools'.
- Locate the Maxi PC Suite software and click the 'Download Here' button. Open the downloaded .zip file.
- Double-click the 'setup.exe' file to install the program.
- Run 'PC Link' on the computer. This was installed with the Maxi PC Suite. Select 'MaxiSys Printer'. Tap 'Quick Print' or 'Print' to start printing. ?️
VCI Connection & Updates
VCI Connection via Bluetooth ?:
- Select the 'VCI Manager' ? icon from the Main Menu or the bottom toolbar.
- Choose 'VCI BT' from the left side of the screen. Your tablet will automatically scan for available VCI devices, which will be listed on the right.
- Tap to connect or disconnect. When a connection is established, the status will read "Connected".
- When the VCI device is ready, a green badge ✔️ will appear on the VCI button at the bottom of the screen.
VCI Software Updates ⬆️:
- Connect the VCI device ? to the tablet via USB cable and to a power source to ensure updates are installed correctly.
- Select the 'VCI Manager' ? application from the Main Menu.
- Select 'VCI Update' from the Connection Mode list on the left side of the screen. The current and latest versions of the VCI software will appear.
- If available, tap the 'Update Now' button to download software.
VID - Vehicle Identification Detection
Scan VIN / License:
- Select 'Diagnostics' ? from the Main Menu.
- Select the blue 'VID' button on the top left of the screen. Choose 'Scan VIN/License' from the drop-down menu.
- Position the camera so that the VIN (located on the vehicle dash or door jamb) appears within the scanning frame ?.
- The VIN is scanned and recognized automatically. The result appears in the Recognition result dialog box. Tap 'OK' ✔️ to confirm the VIN and continue.
Auto VIN Detect (Compatible with Vehicles 2007 and Newer):
- Select 'Diagnostics' ? from the Main Menu.
- Select the blue 'VID' button on the top left of the screen.
- Select 'Auto Detect' from the drop-down menu.
- Once the vehicle is successfully identified, the Diagnostics Menu will appear.
Scan Operations
Auto-Scan:
This function automatically acquires the VIN and performs a comprehensive scan of all available vehicle systems.
- Select 'Diagnostics' ? from the Main Menu.
- Select the vehicle manufacturer from the displayed list.
- Select 'Automatic Selection' to acquire VIN automatically, or tap 'Manual Input' to type in the VIN.
- All available systems will appear, showing their scan status.
Fault Scan:
After an Auto Scan, you can perform a Fault Scan to identify issues within specific systems.
- Select 'Diagnostics' ? from the Main Menu.
- A System List of all available systems will appear after the Auto Scan.
- Tap 'Fault Scan' at the bottom of the screen to scan system faults.
Interpreting Scan Results:
- Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) can be viewed directly after scanning.
- 'Fault / #': Indicates faults are present; '#' indicates the number of detected faults.
- 'Pass / No Fault': Indicates the system was scanned and no fault was detected.
- 'No Response': Indicates the system was unresponsive.
Pre/Post Scan Reports
Customize your reports before running pre/post scans for vehicle inspections.
- Select the 'Data Manager' ? icon on the Main Menu.
- Tap the 'Workshop Information' icon.
- Complete the fields on this screen by tapping each field and entering information. This data will appear on all Pre- and Post-Scan reports.
- To add a logo: Tap the image icon and select from the drop-down menu to take a photo or upload an image.
- The generated Pre- and Post-Scan reports are now complete with shop information and ready to be emailed or printed.
- Reports are stored in 'Vehicle History', accessible through 'Data Manager' or 'Diagnostics' > 'History'.
- Access stored reports. Open the drop-down menu by tapping the overflow icon ?️ in the upper-right corner. Choose 'View PDF', 'Print' ?️, 'E-mail' ✉️, or 'Delete' ❌.
System Suite Apps
The device includes various system suite applications for enhanced functionality.
Service ?:
Designed to provide quick access to vehicle systems for various service and maintenance tasks. Includes comprehensive functions like Oil Reset, EPB, SAS, DPF, TPMS, and BMS.
Data Logging ?:
Interactive recording sessions save vehicle testing data and enable direct contact with Autel technical support staff for troubleshooting diagnostic bugs and errors.
Remote Desktop ?️:
Enables authorization for tech-support specialists to remotely log into the tablet to help update software, perform diagnostic procedures, or assist with complicated vehicle services. This real-time support provides quick and accurate solutions.
Data Manager ?:
Designed to store all data files, including customer information, vehicle ID, and vehicle diagnostic records.
