2. Scan and Connect to MkiBeacon
To download the MokoBeacon app, search for "MokoBeacon" on the App Store or Google Play, or scan the provided QR code.
When the mobile phone's Bluetooth is turned on, the APP can search for nearby MkiBeacon devices. The APP can sort scanned devices by signal strength, Major, or Minor value.
Clicking on a device that needs configuration will prompt a password dialog. Upon entering the correct password, you can access the configuration interface.
The device will disconnect automatically if there is no user operation within 1 minute. Users can click "DISCONNECT" in the top right corner of the interface to reconnect the device.
Device Parameters Displayed:
- Battery percentage
- UUID
- Major
- Minor
- RSSI
- Transmission Power (Tx)
- 3-Axis (X, Y, Z)
- MAC Address
- Connection Status (CONN: NO/YES)
3. Configure MkiBeacon Parameters
The following parameters can be read and configured:
- UUID
- MAJOR
- MINOR
- RSSI@1m
- Transmission Power
- Broadcasting Interval
- Device ID
- iBeacon Name
- Modify Password
- 3-Axis Accelerometer
- Connectable
- Power Off
- DFU (Device Firmware Update)
The following parameters can only be read:
- Battery percentage
- MAC Address
- Device Information
- RSSI curve
Note: The iOS APP does not display "MAC Address" and "DFU" information. The Android APP does not display the "RSSI curve" information.
3.1 Configure UUID
The default UUID is E2C56DB5-DFFB-48D2-B060-D0F5A71096E0. Users can enter UUID values that meet the standard field requirements (16 bytes).
3.2 Configure Major and Minor
Users can input decimal digits to configure Major and Minor. The value ranges from 0 to 65535, corresponding to hexadecimal 0x0000 to 0xFFFF. After modifying the parameter, click the upper right button to save.
3.3 Configure Measured Distance (RSSI@1m)
RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication) @1m refers to the signal strength received by the device at a distance of 1 meter. The value should align with actual test results. The input range is -120 to 0 dBm. It is generally not recommended to configure this value.
3.4 Configure Transmission Power
The transmission power of the device is determined by the chip. Configurable values are: -40dBm, -20dBm, -16dBm, -12dBm, -8dBm, -4dBm, 0dBm, 4dBm.
3.5 Configure Broadcasting Interval
This is the interval at which the device broadcasts iBeacon information. The adjustable interval is 100 ms, ranging from 100 ms to 10 seconds. A shorter interval improves scannability but increases power consumption.
3.6 Modify Device ID
The Device ID ranges from 00000 to 99999.
3.7 iBeacon Name
The maximum length for the device name is 10 characters without a 3-Axis accelerometer. With a 3-Axis accelerometer, the maximum length is 4 characters.
3.8 Modify Password
The default password is "Moko4321". The password must be 8 characters long (ASCII visible characters). Users need to enter the same content twice to modify the password.
3.9 Configure Connection Mode
The default connection mode is "Connectable". If you wish to change the MkiBeacon to a non-connectable state using the APP, a confirmation prompt will appear. In a disconnectable state, the device cannot be configured. To restore connectable mode (for devices with a button):
- Long press the button for 3 seconds to turn off the MkiBeacon.
- Long press the button for 3 seconds to turn on the MkiBeacon.
- The device will be in a connectable status after restarting within 1 minute.
Warning: If the device does not have a button, it cannot be modified to be connectable.
3.10 Power Off
To shut down the device using the APP, or if the MkiBeacon does not support button shutdown, click the blue button next to "Power Off". A confirmation prompt will appear. Ensure the device has a button to turn it back on.
