Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps carefully to replace the charging port on your Toshiba Thrive.
- Step 1: Back Cover Removal
Ensure the lock switch for the back cover is unlocked. Pry away the back cover, starting from the speaker area.
- Step 2: Battery Removal
Make sure the battery lock switch is in the unlocked position. Slide the battery switch release to the right and lift out the battery.
- Step 3: Midframe Access
Remove the 12 screws holding the back cover, which are 5mm in length and require a PH0 screwdriver. Gently pry the back of the device off, being careful not to damage any cables.
- Step 4: Disconnecting Wires
Once the back case is off, disconnect the wires by gently pulling on the plastic tabs.
- Step 5: Opening the Device
Carefully open the device like a book and lay the two halves beside each other.
- Step 6: Charging Port Removal
Remove the two screws holding the charging port in place (3mm length, PH0 screwdriver). Use tweezers to lift the charging port's protective covering.
- Step 7: Final Port Disconnection
Use tweezers to pull out the connector linking the charging port to the motherboard. Gently lift the charging port from your Thrive.
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
