DIGITUS Field Termination Coupler CAT 6A, 500 MHz

Step 1: Stripping Length

Determine the appropriate stripping length for the cable type:

• S/FTP: Cut the braided shield to approximately 10 - 15 mm and fold it backwards.
• U/FTP: The drain wire is wrapped.
• SF/UTP: Score and remove the foil screen, then cut off the cross separator.

Step 2: Presort Pairs

Cut off the shield to approximately 5 mm and presort the wire pairs.

Wiring Standards:

T568A:

6 (White/Orange), 3 (Orange), 2 (White/Green), 1 (Blue), 6 (White/Blue), 5 (Green), 7 (White/Brown), 4 (Brown)

T568B:

1 (White/Orange), 2 (Orange), 3 (White/Green), 6 (Blue), 5 (White/Blue), 4 (Green), 7 (White/Brown), 8 (Brown)

Step 3: Wire Management

For S/FTP and U/FTP cables:

• Untwist the wire pairs.
• Insert the pairs into the wire management system.

For SF/UTP cables:

• Carefully straighten the individual wires before inserting them into the wire management.

Step 4: Trim Wires

Trim the wires flush with the wire manager. It is strongly recommended that the tips of the wires protrude a maximum of 0.15 - 0.20 mm.

Step 5: Inserting

Insert the wire management into the coupler. Press with the shield cover until it reaches the stop position.

Step 6: Join Plug Housing

Join the plug housing parts and operate the strain relief lever.

Step 7: Close Plug Cover

Close the plug cover. Ensure the drain wire is in proper contact with the grounding clip on the plug. Screw the nut tight.
