Your guide to setting up your Wireless-AX5700 Dual-band Gigabit Router.

One Router Setup Steps

Follow these steps for initial setup:

  1. Prepare your Modem

    Step 1: Unplug the power cable from your cable/DSL modem. If it has a battery backup, remove the battery.

    Step 2: Connect your modem to the WAN port on the back of the router using the provided network cable.

    Step 3: Power on the modem by plugging it into a power outlet. Check the modem's LED lights to ensure the connection is active.

  2. Install your Router

    Step 1: Plug the power adapter into the DCIN port on the router and press the Power switch.

    Step 2: The power LED will light up, indicating the hardware is ready.

    Note for DSL users: You will need your username and password from your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to properly configure your router.

Connecting to the Network

Choose one of the following methods:

Via ASUS Router App

  1. On your iOS or Android mobile device, go to the app store, search for "ASUS Router", and download the app.
  2. Connect your mobile device to the router's default network SSID (e.g., "ASUS_XX", found on the product label) via Wi-Fi settings. Alternatively, scan the QR code on the product label to connect.
  3. Launch the ASUS Router App and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Or via Web Browser

  1. Connect your PC to one of the router's LAN ports using an additional network cable.
  2. Alternatively, connect your device wirelessly to the default SSID (e.g., "ASUS_XX") shown on the product label.
  3. Open a web browser. You will typically be redirected to the ASUS Setup Wizard. If not, manually navigate to http://router.asus.com.
  4. Follow the instructions in the setup wizard to complete the configuration.

2.5G Port WAN Type Setup Steps

Configure your router to use the 2.5G WAN port:

  1. Prepare your Router

    Connect your modem to the 2.5G port on the router using a network cable.

  2. Login and Connect

    Step 1: In the ASUS Setup Wizard, select "manual setting".

    Step 2: Select "2.5G Ethernet" and follow the prompts to complete the setup of your Wi-Fi name (SSID) and login credentials.

Switching to 2.5G WAN

If you previously used a 1G WAN port, follow these steps:

  1. Step 1: Access the router's web interface. Navigate to the Dashboard and open the "WAN" settings.
  2. Step 2: Choose "2.5G WAN" as the primary WAN connection and apply the changes.

Start to Use

After completing the setup steps, the router will reboot briefly and establish an internet connection via the 2.5G port. The 2.5G LED will turn white when connected.
