Window Bars - DIY Installation Instructions

Step 1: Measure the width and height of the reveal opening. For wooden windows, the reveal height will be within the window frame as shown. (Fig. 1) To retain rigidity in the middle of the bars, do not exceed the maximum expanded width/height.
Step 2: Gather your tools and materials: - DIY Xpanda window bars - Measuring tape - Pencil or marker - Drill with the right drill bits - Screws and anchors (come with window bars) - Screwdriver - Level
Step 3: Using your measurements from Step 1, mark the spots on the window frame where you'll drill the holes for the mounting brackets. Make sure the marks are level and evenly spaced. (Fig. 2)
Step 4: Drill holes for fixing.
Step 5: Secure into position using fixings supplied. Make sure the screw cover caps are installed as shown. (Fig. 4)
Step 6: Expand the window bars to fit the width of your window frame. Place them into the mounting brackets and make sure they're aligned properly. Tighten any adjustment screws to lock the bars in place. (Fig. 3)
Installation is now complete.
