Introduction
This guide provides essential information for setting up and using your PreSonus Eris™ E3.5 High-Definition Near Field Studio Monitors.
Connections and Setup
Power Connection
Connect the provided AC power cable from a wall outlet to the POWER [?] input on the rear of the monitor. (Diagram 1 shows a standard AC outlet and the power cable connecting to the monitor.)
Speaker Connection
Connect the included speaker cable from the OUTPUT TO RIGHT SPEAKER terminal on the left monitor to the corresponding input on the right monitor. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -). (Diagram 2 illustrates connecting the left monitor to the right monitor using speaker wires, showing positive and negative terminal connections.)
Audio Input Connections
The Eris E3.5 offers multiple input options on the rear panel:
- Balanced TRS: Connect using balanced 1/4-inch TRS cables for professional audio sources.
- RCA: Connect using unbalanced RCA cables for consumer audio devices.

Connecting Audio Sources
You can connect various audio sources:
- Computer/Audio Interface: Connect via Balanced TRS or RCA cables to your computer's audio output or an external audio interface. (Diagram 4 shows an example of connecting to a DVD player [?] via RCA.)
- Portable Devices: Connect smartphones [?], MP3 players, or other devices to the front panel Aux In [?] jack using a 3.5mm stereo cable. (Diagram 5 shows a smartphone connected to the Aux In.)
Controls and Features
Volume Control
Adjust the overall output volume using the Volume [?] knob located on the front panel. (Diagram 6 shows a hand turning the Volume knob.)
Headphone Output
Connect headphones to the front panel Phones [?] jack. This will mute the main speakers. (Diagram 8 shows the front panel with the headphone jack.)
Acoustic Tuning
Use the Acoustic Tuning controls on the rear panel to adjust the speaker's frequency response to your listening environment:
- HIGH: Adjusts high-frequency response.
- LOW: Adjusts low-frequency response.
