Before First Use
Thoroughly clean all parts that come into contact with food before the first use. Refer to the 'Cleaning' section.
Note: Filter (HR3212) is applicable to the plastic jar only.
Important Safety Information
General Warnings
- Never immerse the motor unit in water or any other liquid. Clean it with a moist cloth only.
- Ensure the appliance's voltage matches your local mains voltage.
- Do not use the appliance if the cord, plug, or other parts are damaged.
- Never use the blender jar or mill beaker to switch the appliance on or off.
- Never leave the appliance unattended while in use.
- This appliance is not intended for use by children. Keep it and its cord out of reach of children.
- Persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities may use the appliance if supervised or instructed on safe use and understanding the hazards.
- Children should not play with the appliance.
- Do not touch the blades, as they are very sharp, especially when the appliance is plugged in.
- Be cautious when pouring hot liquid into the blender, as it can be ejected due to sudden steaming.
- The appliance is intended for household use only.
General Cautions
- Switch off and disconnect the appliance from the power supply when left unattended, before assembling/disassembling, approaching moving parts, or cleaning.
- Do not use accessories or parts not recommended by Philips, as this may invalidate your guarantee.
- Do not exceed the maximum indications on the blender jar and mill.
- Do not exceed the maximum quantities and processing times indicated in the relevant tables.
- The appliance can only be switched on if the blender jar or mill is correctly assembled on the motor unit.
Blender Specifics
- Warning: Never reach into the blender jar with fingers or objects while the appliance is running.
- Ensure the blade unit is securely fastened to the blender jar before assembling the jar onto the motor unit.
- Do not touch the cutting edges of the blender blade unit during handling or cleaning; they are very sharp.
- If the blade unit gets stuck, unplug the appliance before removing the blocking ingredients.
- Caution: To prevent hazards from inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out, do not supply the appliance through an external switching device (e.g., timer) or connect it to a circuit switched on/off by the utility.
- Avoid misuse to prevent potential injury.
- For HR2222 with a glass jar, let it reach room temperature for at least 5 minutes before use if taken from a dishwasher or refrigerator.
- Never fill the blender jar with ingredients hotter than 60°C.
- Do not fill the blender jar with more than 1.5 litres of liquid, especially at high speeds, to prevent spillage. For hot liquids or foaming ingredients, do not exceed 1.25 litres.
- If food sticks to the jar wall, switch off, unplug, and use a spatula to remove it.
- Always ensure the lid is properly closed and the measuring cup is inserted correctly before switching on.
- Do not let the appliance run for more than 2 minutes at a time.
- Allow the appliance to cool to room temperature after each batch.
- Noise level: Lc = 86dB(A)
Mill Specifics
- Warning: Ensure the blade unit is securely fastened to the mill before assembling the mill onto the motor unit.
- Never use the mill for very hard ingredients like nutmeg, rock sugar, or ice cubes.
- Do not touch the cutting edges of the mill blade unit during cleaning; they are very sharp.
- Caution: Never use the mill for more than 30 seconds without interruption.
- Allow the appliance to cool to room temperature after each batch.
Features
- Built-in safety lock: The appliance only switches on when the blender jar, mill, or chopper bowl is correctly assembled on the motor unit.
- Overheat protection: The appliance automatically switches off if it overheats. If this occurs, switch off, unplug, let it cool down, check for excessive quantities or blockages, then plug in and switch on again.
Electromagnetic fields (EMF)
This Philips appliance complies with applicable standards and regulations regarding exposure to electromagnetic fields.
Recycling
This symbol indicates that the product should not be disposed of with normal household waste. Follow your country's rules for separate collection of electrical and electronic products to prevent negative consequences for the environment and human health.
Usage Examples
Blender
The blender is intended for:
- Blending fluids (dairy products, sauces, fruit juices, soups, mixed drinks, shakes).
- Mixing soft ingredients (pancake batter, mayonnaise).
- Pureeing cooked ingredients.
Tip: Use the pulse setting (PULSE) for brief processing by pressing it multiple times. Never use the pulse setting for more than a few seconds at a time.
Mill
The mini chopper can be used to grind and chop ingredients such as:
- Coffee beans, peppercorns, sesame seeds, rice, wheat, coconut flesh, nuts (shelled), dried soy beans, dried peas, breadcrumbs.
Note: The mill is not suitable for chopping very hard ingredients or liquids. Do not process ingredients beyond the mill jar's height. Never fill the mill with hot ingredients.
Cleaning
Easily clean the blender jar by following the steps indicated in Figure 5 (steps 1-4). Ensure to press the cleaning button multiple times.
