DocumentDocumentThe British Diode-bridge Compressor that changed the industry now available as a plugin When we released the SUCCESSOR stereo mixbus compressor it was a first in its class, finally allowing creative engineers, producers and musicians to apply warm, colorful and fat compression. Until its release all that was previously available was clean and transparent VCA-based processors for these duties. While often adequate for the Mix Bus, they just don´t have anywhere near the mojo, energy and vitality that the SUCCESSOR can offer. Originally conceived for the MIX bus the SUCCESSOR has actually become a popular choice for all the different aspects of music & sound production. Finding its way into tracking sessions, on to subgroups and even at the MASTERING stage it has shown and justifies that it has a place anywhere it is used. Adopted early by top class engineers such as Chris Lord-Alge, the SUCCESSOR will let you feel how your separate tracks interact and blend together in a way not possible when Master Bus compression duties are relegated to the mastering stage. The Heritage Audio SUCCESSOR plugin recreates all of the features that its outboard predecessor has...and more. Warning! Things can get wild here! The newly added ´NUKE´ feature pushes the boundaries of traditional compression and takes your signals to the next level. An extra +20dBs added right before compression forces a more extreme reaction, and then gives you control to make up any or all of the +20dBs at the output stage....essentially taking the compressor into new territory and benefitting from its exaggerated response. CONTROLS Adds +20 dB before compression. With an extended range from +20dBu (fully clockwise) to -20dBu (fully counterclockwise). NUKE button THRESHOLD 6-position rotary switch to select attack times from ultra-fast 50 microseconds to a very gentle 20 milliseconds. ATTACK OFF, 80 and 160 Hz high pass, 800 Hz and 3Khz bell type boost and 5Khz low cut. These allow for unprecedented flexible tweaking of your compression on a 6-position rotary switch. Activates the BLEND Option to add up to +20 control function. If not used dBs more at the OUTPUT the signal is 100% wet. stage. SIDECHAIN FILTER BLEND ON button OUTPUT TRIM GAIN REDUCTION VU METER DYNAMICS IN button Measures gain reduction in dB and will light up when active. Engages dynamics processor. RELEASE 6-position rotary switch to choose RELEASE times from a super fast 25mS up to .4S with two automatic release times(fast on peaks & slower on sustained program material). GAIN MAKEUP BLEND % POWER button Restores any gain loss due to compression. Up to 10dBs in 2dB steps on a 6-position rotary switch. Allows you to set the exact amount of compression to be added. The new NUKE feature will actually apply an extra 20dBs right at the front end, before compression, so your SUCCESSOR is working much harder and therefore producing more and more of the desired artifacts and character that it's famous for. This can sound incredible and is worth trying on most material as the results can be surprising. Add a little extra on top Then, right before the OUTPUT stage, you do of course, have a control with an extra +20dBs of gain makeup available to compensate for the extreme compression. PC Windows 10 and 11. - DAWs supported: All major DAWs, including Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, Studio One, Bitwig, Reaper, Reason etc. INSTALLATION: A software download is made available in your Downloads section of your profile in https://users.heritageaudio.com right after your purchase. Select either Mac or PC depending on your system. - MAC: Double click on the PKG installer and follow the instructions. - PC/WINDOWS: Double click on the setup .exe file and follow the instructions. ACTIVATION AND TRIAL PERIOD: If you have purchased your SUCCESSOR through https://users.heritageaudio.com, an iLok licence will have been deposited on your iLok account as soon as you have finished your purchase. Your copy of the SUCCESSOR will be automatically activated upen opening the plugin for the first time while logged into your iLok account. If you have purchased your SUCCESSOR through a third party vendor, an activation code will have been emailed to you once the purchase is completed. Enter the activation code provided when iLok ask for it the first time you open it.
