VAX-1030 & VAX-1100
Multifunction meter for the measurement of direct current circuits
1. General Information
Dear customer, thank you for choosing our product. In the following, we will show you how to use your product. Should you encounter any unexpected problems during use, please do not hesitate to contact us.
The measuring instruments of the VAX series are multimeters which transmit the measurement results to the display via a wireless 2.4 GHz technology. A TFT-LCD shows the measured values clearly and enables comfortable operation. The measuring instruments are safeguarded against overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent. In operation with batteries, these devices can detect automatically the direction of the current flow and display the battery capacity in real time.

3. Dimensions in mm
The device has the following approximate dimensions:
Width: 98 mm
Height: 54 mm
Depth: 113.2 mm (main unit), 102 mm (base width), 57.2 mm (base depth)
Front panel depth: 20.8 mm
The device features mounting points and ports on its sides and rear.
4. Display
The measuring instrument can be connected to the display via a cable or wirelessly. For wireless connection, the display can be powered via the mUSB port (5 V) or the JST port (8 - 16 V).
The display shows various parameters including: Signal strength, Power status, Charge status (for batteries), Voltage, Current, Output status, Ampere hours, Watt-hours, and Time. It also indicates status icons such as ON, P01, F17, 00°C, and OK. Navigation and settings are managed via keys like Key Lock, Relay control, Address settings, and protection settings (NCP, OCP, OVP, LVP).
5. Connection
VAX-1030 Connection
For the VAX-1030, connections are made to 'power source', 'load', 'battery', and 'charger' terminals. The instrument can be integrated into a circuit to measure DC current circuits and battery discharge, or to measure the charging process of batteries.
VAX-1100 Connection
For a measuring range from 10 to 100 V, the VAX-1100 requires the jumper to be set to position '2W'. Connections are made to 'VIN', 'power source', 'load', 'battery', and 'charger' terminals. Similar to the VAX-1030, it can measure DC circuits and battery charge/discharge.
For a measuring range from 0 to 100 V, the VAX-1100 requires the jumper to be set to position '3W'. The module must be supplied with a 10 to 30 V DC voltage. Connections are made to 'VIN', 'power source', 'load', 'battery', and 'charger' terminals.
Connection between a relay and the VAX1100
When connecting a relay to the VAX1100, ensure the relay is designed for the expected voltage and current for the specific construction. Diagrams show connections for both 2W and 3W jumper settings.
6. Operation
The device uses symbols to indicate connection status:
- ? Wireless connection is successfully established
- ? Corded connection is successfully established
- ❌ Connection failed or is not connected
Key Functions:
Key | Function |
---|---|
"OUT" | Switches the output. The relay must be controlled for this to work. |
"NCP" | Activates protection against negative current. Setting to "0" deactivates the function. Shifts the relay to interrupt the circuit. |
"OCP" | Activates protection against overcurrent. Setting to "0" deactivates the function. Shifts the relay to interrupt the circuit. |
"LVP" | Activates undervoltage protection. Setting to "0" deactivates the function. Shifts the relay to interrupt the circuit. |
"OVP" | Activates overvoltage protection. Setting to "0" deactivates the function. Shifts the relay to interrupt the circuit. |
"CLR" | Deletes all saved values of Ah, Wh, and time. Sets battery status to 100%. |
"BAT" | Adjusts battery values. |
"SET" | Adjusts fundamental settings of the device. |
"ADR" | Adjusts the communication address. |
"LNG" | Changes the language. |
"FCH" | Adjusts the communication channel. |
"BRI" | Adjusts the brightness of the display. |
Important: To access the "LNG" option, enter "ADR" and hold the down arrow key for 3 seconds.
7. Connecting Several Devices to One Display
To connect multiple devices to a single display, assign unique addresses to each device.
- Connect the display to your device using the USB cable.
- Open the menu by pressing the OK key.
- Navigate to the 'ADR' menu item using the arrow keys and press OK.
- Select the address using the arrow keys. Changing the address may display a symbol indicating address change in the upper left corner of the display.
- Confirm the address by pressing and holding the OK button for approximately three seconds.
- Upon release, the display should change, potentially showing a successful connection symbol like ?.
This process assigns distinct addresses to each device, allowing wireless control if the display and device addresses match.
