Steps for Easy Steam Cleaning
The STEAM CLEAN function is recommended for regular maintenance. It is most effective when food residue has not been left to build up for extended periods.
Step 1: Prepare the Cleaning Solution
Mix one drop of dish soap with ½ cup of water. Pour this mixture into the CRUMB/STEAM TRAY. Ensure the tray is positioned above the heating elements. Distribute the water evenly across the tray. The wire rack or mesh basket can remain in the tray during this cycle.
Important: Allow the oven to cool down completely before initiating the steam clean cycle. Do not attempt to steam clean immediately after cooking.
Step 2: Start the Cleaning Cycle
Close the oven door. Press the STEAM CLEAN button, followed by the START button. The START/STOP indicator will illuminate, and the display will show the remaining time, cycling between the countdown and "SC."
Step 3: During the Cycle
Steam will begin to form on the oven door approximately one minute into the cycle. The STEAM CLEAN cycle runs for 5 minutes, which includes a cool-down period. Upon completion, the oven will beep twice, and the display will show "0:00".
Step 4: Wipe Down the Interior
After the cycle, use a towel, paper towel, or sponge to wipe the oven's interior. Exercise caution as the oven may still be hot. Carefully remove the CRUMB/STEAM TRAY using a towel or oven mitt, and discard any remaining water. For best cleaning results, wipe the interior immediately after the cycle, as condensation aids the cleaning process. Rinse the CRUMB/STEAM TRAY and remove any food debris. The tray, wire rack, and mesh cooking basket are also dishwasher safe.
Initial Setup Note
IMPORTANT: Before first use, unpack all components from the box and packaging. Remove any clear or blue protective film. Wash all accessories with warm, soapy water. Note that only select accessories are dishwasher safe.
