1. veKonvert Compatibility with Victron Products
The veKonvert is compatible with the following Victron products:
- BMV-700
- BMV-702
- BMV-700H
- BMV-712 Smart
- BMV-710H Smart
- BMV-712 Smart Rev2
- SmartShunt 300A/50mV
- SmartShunt 500A/50mV
- SmartShunt 1000A/50mV
- SmartShunt 2000A/50mV
- All MPPT charge controllers
Note: The veKonvert is not compatible with Victron Chargers and Inverters. It should also not be plugged into the VE.Direct interfaces of any Victron Consumers such as Multiplus, Quattro, Cerbo, etc.
2. Setup and Calibration for Boat Battery Systems
The veKonvert connects to the SmartShunt via the VE.Direct interface. All calibration of the boat's battery capacity is performed via the Bluetooth interface integrated into the SmartShunt. Download the Victron app and follow the setup instructions included with the SmartShunt. No calibration is required on the veKonvert interface itself.
3. Using Bluetooth Interface Alongside veKonvert
Yes, you can continue to use the Bluetooth interface as well as the veKonvert.
4. Information Displayed on MFD
Most popular Multi-Function Displays (MFDs) will show real-time battery voltage, charge/discharge current, state of charge, and capacity remaining. The Victron app will also provide additional historical information useful for battery maintenance.
5. Connecting Multiple Batteries
Yes, each battery bank will require a separate veKonvert interface.
6. Availability of Larger Shunts
Generally, the veKonvert is paired with the 300A or 500A Victron Energy SmartShunt. However, Victron Energy also offers 1000A and 2000A rated shunts.
