Installation Warning
WARNING: Installation of this player on a car should be done by qualified personnel (auto electrician / installer) only after checking the ISO connectors on the car. If the car is not equipped with standard ISO connectors, the necessary modifications must be made by the installer before installing the player.
Front Panel Description
The front panel features several controls and indicators:
- 1 - PWR / MOD ▶️/⚙️:
- Press this button to turn the player on. When the player is on, press it to switch between modes: FM, AUX IN, BT (Bluetooth), USB, SD. Long press to turn off the player.
- 2 - MENU ☰:
- Press this button to access the main menu, regardless of the current mode. Navigate the menu by rotating the central knob or using the forward/back keys. The menu order is: RADIO - BT (Bluetooth) - MEDIA (USB/SD) - AUX IN - Settings. Press the central knob to confirm selection.
- 3 - EQ / Volume ?:
- Press this button or rotate the central knob left/right to switch between sound profiles: FLAT / CLASS / ROCK / POP / OFF. Rotate the silver knob to adjust the volume or navigate menus/file lists.
- 4 - BND/AMS ?:
- In RADIO mode, short press to switch between FM bands (FM1 - FM2 - FM3). Long press in RADIO mode to automatically scan for channels and save strong signal stations to presets [1]-[6] on FM1, FM2, and FM3. Short press [1]-[6] to play the desired station. In MEDIA mode (USB/SD), press to switch between audio, video, or photo file types.
- 5 - 1/PAU ▶️/⏸️:
- In MEDIA mode, this button functions as STOP / PLAY. In FM mode, it controls channel 1; long press to save the current channel to position 1.
- 6 - 2/LIST ?:
- In MEDIA mode, this button displays the file list. Navigate files by rotating the central knob or using left/right keys. In FM mode, it controls channel 2; long press to save the current channel to position 2.
- 7 - 3/RPT ?:
- In MEDIA mode, this button controls Repeat (repeat one or repeat all), indicated by on-screen icons. In FM mode, it controls channel 3; long press to save the current channel to position 3.
- 8 - 4/RDM ?:
- In MEDIA mode, this button activates Random playback. In FM mode, it controls channel 4; long press to save the current channel to position 4.
- 9 - 5/-10 ⏪10:
- In List mode, press to quickly skip back 10 files.
- 10 - 6/+10 ⏩10:
- In List mode, press to quickly skip forward 10 files.
- 11 - RESET ?:
- Insert a sharp object to reset the device to factory settings.
- 12 - Left Navigation Key ◀️:
- In MEDIA mode, press to return to the previous file. In Menu mode, navigate left.
- 13 - Right Navigation Key ▶️:
- In MEDIA mode, press to go to the next file. In Menu mode, navigate right.
- 14 - IR Receiver ?:
- Infrared receiver for the remote control.
- 15 - Display ?️:
- The screen of the player.
- 16 - AUX-IN Interface ?:
- Auxiliary input port.
- 17 - Micro SD card slot / USB interface ?:
- Ports for external storage.
- 18 - MIC (microphone) ?:
- Built-in microphone.
Remote Control Description
The remote control provides access to all player functions:
- 1 - Power ▶️/OFF:
- Short press to turn the device on/off.
- 2 - Dial/Call ?:
- Enter phone number mode. Use keys 0-9 to dial. Press again to call. In BT mode, short press to display the last dialed number, press again to call.
- 3 - Delete/Interrupt ❌:
- Press to delete/correct a phone number. While on a call, press to interrupt.
- 4 - Mode Select ☰:
- Short press to switch between RADIO, BT (Bluetooth), MEDIA (USB/SD), AUX IN, and Settings. In phone call mode, press to enter '0'.
- 5 - Preset 1 / Play/Pause 1️⃣▶️/⏸️:
- In RADIO mode, select preset 1. In Bluetooth music playback, play/pause. In phone call mode, enter '1'.
- 6 - Preset 2 / File List 2️⃣?:
- In RADIO mode, select preset 2. In Bluetooth music playback, display file list. In phone call mode, enter '2'.
- 7 - Preset 3 / Repeat 3️⃣?:
- In RADIO mode, select preset 3. In Bluetooth music playback, repeat last song or all songs. In phone call mode, enter '3'.
- 8 - Preset 4 / Random 4️⃣?:
- In RADIO mode, select preset 4. In Bluetooth music playback, random playback (audio/video/photo). In phone call mode, enter '4'.
- 9 - Preset 5 / -10 Files 5️⃣⏪10:
- In RADIO mode, select preset 5. In List mode, navigate back 10 files. In phone call mode, enter '5'.
- 10 - Preset 6 / +10 Files 6️⃣⏩10:
- In RADIO mode, select preset 6. In List mode, navigate forward 10 files. In phone call mode, enter '6'.
- 11 - LOUD ?+:
- Activates loudness. In phone call mode, enter '7'.
- 12 - Scan/Scan & Save ?:
- In RADIO mode, scan frequencies. Long press to scan and automatically save strong stations. In phone call mode, enter '8'.
- 13 - EQ ?️:
- Select EQ settings. In phone call mode, enter '9'.
- 14 - Volume Up ➕:
- Increase volume.
- 15 - Volume Down ➖:
- Decrease volume.
- 16 - Band/Audio/Video/Photo ?/?/?/?️:
- In RADIO mode, change band (FM1-FM2-FM3). In Bluetooth playback, switch between Audio/Video/Photo.
- 17 - Scan Left/Previous File ◀️:
- In RADIO mode, scan left. In Bluetooth playback, go to previous file/song. Long press for fast navigation left.
- 18 - Scan Right/Next File ▶️:
- In RADIO mode, scan right. In Bluetooth playback, go to next file/song. Long press for fast navigation right.
- 19 - MUTE / # ?:
- Mute audio output. In phone call mode, press '#'.
- 20 - Menu / * ☰:
- Enter menu. In phone call mode, press '*'.
- 21 - Select ✔️:
- Confirm selection or customize audio parameters (VOL, BAS, TRE, FAD, LOUD).
Radio Mode
To use Radio mode:
- Press the PWR/MOD button until the RADIO interface appears.
- Press the left/right keys to scan frequencies.
- Press keys [1]-[6] to play saved radio stations.
- Press the BND/AMS key to change FM bands (FM1 - FM2 - FM3).
AUX Mode
Connect auxiliary devices (smartphone, portable MP3 players, etc.) via cable.
Bluetooth Mode
1. Pairing Smartphone and MP5 Player
Position your phone close to the player. Activate Bluetooth on your phone. Search for nearby Bluetooth devices, identify your MP5 player (named "CAR BT"), and connect.
2. Taking and Making Calls
Making Calls:
After connecting your phone via Bluetooth, you can dial numbers directly from the player:
- Press the REDIAL button on the remote control to access the number entry interface. Use keys [0]-[9] to enter the number.
- Press REDIAL on the remote or BND/AMS on the player again to make the call.
Answering Calls:
When you receive a call, press the BND/AMS key on the player or the REDIAL key on the remote to answer. To end a call, press the PWR/MOD key on the player or the DELETE key on the remote.
3. Playing Music from Your Phone
After connecting via Bluetooth, press the PWR/MOD key to switch to BT mode. Play the audio/video file on your phone.
Media Mode (USB or SD)
Insert a USB stick or micro SD card into the dedicated ports on the front panel. The player will automatically switch to MEDIA mode and start playing audio or video files from the memory unit.
Settings
The settings menu allows you to change the time, language, or perform a system reset.
Back Panel Description
The back panel features several connectors:
- 1 - ISO Audio Connector:
- For audio connections.
- 2 - ISO Power Connector:
- For power supply.
- 3 - Video Output / Input:
- For connecting external monitors or cameras.
- 4 - Rearview Camera Input:
- Dedicated input for a rearview camera.
- 5 - Audio Output:
- For audio output.
Enable AV-OUT Function
The PNI Clementine 9545 MP5 player allows video transmission to an external monitor (e.g., headrest, car roof monitor).
Steps:
- Connect the external monitor to the RCA jack (3) on the rear panel (see Back Panel Description, page 8).
- Press the MENU button and switch the player to MEDIA mode.
- Press the BND/AMS key multiple times until you reach video mode.
- While the video is playing on the player screen, long press the Volume knob.
- The image from the player screen will be displayed on the external monitor.
Note: The image does not appear simultaneously on both screens. While AV-out is active, the external monitor screen remains black.
Enable Rearview Camera Function
ATTENTION: For rearview camera installation, it is recommended to use a specialized installer or auto electrician.
- Connect a rearview camera to the RCA jack (4) on the rear panel (see Back Panel Description, page 8).
- Connect the positive signal from the reverse lamp or rearview camera to the dedicated Black/White wire from the ISO connector. (Refer to the device's wiring details).
- The player screen will display the camera feed when reverse gear is engaged and the reverse lamp is illuminated (this powers the camera and sends a 12V signal to the PNI 9545 via the Black/White wire).
