1,3,6,8-pyrene tetrasulfonic acid tetrasodium salt (PTSA) is used in cooling and RO application water treatment chemicals as a tracer for real-time inhibitor concentration monitoring, often known as the "Fluorescence tracing" technique.

Pyxis PTSA standards are manufactured under strict lab environment and quality control process to ensure accuracy for calibration. It is ideal for calibration of the Pyxis portable and/or inline PTSA fluorometers. The innovative PTSA-1010 is an advancement that combines PTSA standard (100ppb) with conductivity calibration standard (1000µS/cm) that will calibrate both parameters for the SP-400, SP-710 and SP-710B handheld devices.
