SAFETY WARNINGS FOR USE DIN RAIL ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION METERS The following list of safety warnings has been compiled in accordance with the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988 (GPSR). Its purpose is to protect users from potential hazards arising from the misuse of products. The warnings have been formulated in a simple and understandable way to be accessible to a wide audience, including the elderly and people with reduced mobility. The DIN rail electricity consumption meters offered by manufacturer NTEC sp. z o.o. are CE-certified, which proves their compliance with EU safety standards. Use DIN rail current meters in accordance with their intended use and the manufacturer's recommendations. BASIC HAZARDS AND PRECAUTIONS 1. Electrical risk: The installation of the meter should be entrusted to persons with the appropriate knowledge and skills to operate DIN rail consumption meters. DIN rail-mounted meters must be connected to a suitable electrical installation with the correct earthing. Lack of earthing or connection to an incorrect circuit can lead to electric shock. During installation or maintenance of the meter, touching uninsulated parts of the unit or the power supply terminals while the power is on may cause an electric shock. Do not install or operate switches with wet hands. 2. Risk of overloading: Meters have a maximum permissible current limit. Connecting devices that exceed this value can lead to overheating of the meter, damage to internal components and, in extreme cases, fire. 3. Risk of overheating: The meter requires adequate airflow around the unit to prevent overheating. Installing the meter near heat sources such as radiators, heating appliances, or in areas exposed to direct sunlight may cause the meter to rise in temperature and damage its components. SPECIFIC HAZARDS ARISING FROM USE 4. Risks arising from misuse: The meter should be used in accordance with its specifications. Use not in accordance with the specifications may lead to its damage or incorrect measurement. Failure to read the operating instructions thoroughly before installation can lead to errors in installation, connection or use of the meter 5. Environmental risks: Operating at temperatures other than those indicated in the product specifications may affect the accuracy of the measurements and also damage the electronics of the device. The meters are not designed for use in damp environments or in areas exposed to direct contact with water. Moisture can lead to corrosion of internal components and electrical short circuits. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause the meter to overheat damage the housing. 6. Risk of damage to the device: DIN rail-mounted meters are precision devices and mechanical damage (e.g. due to dropping or strong shocks) can lead to loss of functionality, damage to internal circuits or measurement errors. Storing the meter in unsuitable conditions (e.g. in a damp room or in a place subject to shocks) can lead to damage to the device. MAINTENANCE PRECAUTIONS 7. Cleaning the device: Meters should only be cleaned with a dry, soft cloth. The use of chemicals that may damage the housing or electronic components may affect the functionality of the meter. 8. Maintenance: Carry out regular checks on the condition of the meter. In case of problems, contact an authorised service centre. 9. Storage: Storing meters in extreme temperatures or humidity can affect their durability and functionality. ADDITIONAL WARNINGS 10. Child safety: Ensure that the unit is installed out of the reach of children to avoid tampering. 11. Avoid modifications: By attempting to modify the meter yourself, the user exposes the device to damage and also voids the warranty. In case of problems, contact the manufacturer or an authorised service centre. 12. Action in the event of an emergency: If the unit exhibits abnormal operation, such as overheating, sparking, unusual odour or noises, immediately switch it off and disconnect it from the power supply and then contact the service centre. If you observe any unsafe product behaviour, contact the manufacturer urgently. THE IMPORTANCE OF COMPLYING WITH THE WARNINGS Following the above warnings minimises the risk of personal injury, equipment failure and property damage. Ignoring the recommendations can lead to serious health and material risks. Keep yourself and your loved ones safe by observing the precautions indicated.
