What Are U Codes?
U Codes indicate communication problems between vehicle modules, such as the ECM, TCM, or ABS, when they fail to communicate over the CAN Bus. While the vehicle may still operate, these codes suggest an underlying issue like an offline module, faulty wiring, or a network glitch.
Where Other Tools Fall Short
Many diagnostic scanners can display U Codes and provide a basic explanation. Some may even visualize the network topology for general guidance. However, they typically do not offer troubleshooting steps or further assistance, leaving users to guess the solution.
Why Snap-on® Does It Better
Snap-on scanners perform comprehensive full-system scans on every module. The key differentiator is the integration of the Fast-Track® Diagnostic Workflow and SureTrack®. These features provide practical, real-world tips, common fixes, and guided diagnostic steps derived from actual repair data submitted by technicians across North America.
This approach allows users to identify not only the symptoms but also the root cause of an issue and the correct method to fix it. Snap-on® tools go beyond simply reading codes; they deliver actionable insights and proven real-world solutions.
