Getting Started

Before First Use:

Clean all parts that come into contact with coffee or water before the first use. Wash the metal funnel, single-cup filter, double-cup filter, measuring spoon, and drip tray with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and dry.

Brewing Filter Preparation:

  • Ensure the metal funnel and brewing filter are clean.
  • Pre-heat the metal funnel and brewing filter with hot water from the hot water outlet before initial use.
  • Note: Cold metal funnel and brewing filter can reduce the extraction temperature, significantly affecting the quality of your espresso. Always ensure the metal funnel and brewing filter are pre-heated with hot water from the hot water outlet before initial use.

Brewing Coffee:

  1. Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water up to the desired level.
  2. Place the metal funnel into the group head and lock it by turning it anticlockwise until it stops. Wipe the edges of the brewing filter with a damp cloth.
  3. Place the pre-warmed cup under the metal funnel.
  4. Press the Power button ?. When the heating is finished (Power button indicator becomes solid, and steam light is off), it shows the machine is ready.
  5. Insert the selected basket (1-cup or 2-cup) into the metal funnel.
  6. Add finely ground coffee to the basket. For fresh coffee, this is approximately 1-2 level scoops of the provided measuring spoon. For pre-ground coffee, this is approximately 1 level scoop.
  7. Press down the coffee grounds evenly with the tamper end of the measuring spoon.
  8. Press the Single-cup button ☕️ or Double-cup button ☕️☕️ for the desired volume.

Brewing with Single Cup vs. Double Cup:

When brewing a single cup, the metal funnel with a single-cup basket is used. When brewing two cups, the metal funnel with a double-cup basket is used.

Brewing Filter Usage:

  • Metal Funnel and Brewing Filter: Cold metal funnel and brewing filter can reduce the extraction temperature, significantly affecting the quality of your espresso. Always ensure the metal funnel and brewing filter are pre-heated with hot water from the hot water outlet before initial use.

Using the Steam Wand:

  1. Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water.
  2. Press the Steam button ♨️.
  3. When the heating is finished (Power button indicator becomes solid, and steam light is on), the machine is ready.
  4. Turn the Steam handle to the 'ON' position.
  5. Steam will come out of the steam wand. Turn the Steam handle to the 'OFF' position when finished.
  6. Turn the Power button ? to 'OFF' and wait for the machine to cool down before cleaning.

Frothing Milk:

  1. Pour cold milk into a frothing pitcher.
  2. Insert the steam wand into the milk, just below the surface.
  3. Turn the Steam handle to the 'ON' position.
  4. Angle the pitcher to create a vortex, frothing the milk.
  5. When the milk reaches the desired temperature (around 65°C/150°F), turn the Steam handle to 'OFF'.
  6. Remove the pitcher and clean the steam wand immediately with a damp cloth.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Daily Cleaning:

  • After each use, remove the metal funnel and discard the coffee grounds.
  • Wash the metal funnel, single-cup filter, double-cup filter, and drip tray with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse and dry.
  • Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.

Cleaning the Steam Wand:

Clean the steam wand immediately after each use to prevent milk residue from drying and clogging the wand. Wipe with a damp cloth and run steam through it briefly.

Descaling:

Descaling is recommended every 1-3 months, depending on water hardness. Use a commercial descaling solution or a vinegar/water mixture (1:1 ratio). Follow the descaling instructions provided with the descaling solution.

Auto Descaling:

In coffee standby mode, press and hold the Steam button ♨️ for 5 seconds. The single cup and double cup indicator lights will flash, and the machine will automatically descale. After about 16 minutes, the descaling process will finish. Turn the Power button ? to OFF and wait for the machine to cool down. Turn the Power button ? ON and run 2-3 cycles of water only to rinse the machine.

Cleaning the Metal Funnel and Brewing Filter:

  • Clean the metal funnel and brewing filter after each use.
  • Note: Cold metal funnel and brewing filter can reduce the extraction temperature, significantly affecting the quality of your espresso. Always ensure the metal funnel and brewing filter are pre-heated with hot water from the hot water outlet before initial use.

Cleaning the Drip Tray:

Remove the drip tray and clean it regularly with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse and dry.

Cleaning the Water Tank:

Empty and clean the water tank regularly with mild detergent and water. Rinse thoroughly and dry before refilling.

Storage:

Ensure the machine is clean and dry before storing it. Store in a cool, dry place.

Troubleshooting

  • No power: Ensure the power cord is plugged in securely. Check the power outlet.
  • Coffee not brewing: Ensure the water tank is filled. Check if the metal funnel is locked correctly. Make sure the selected button (single or double cup) is pressed.
  • Weak coffee: Use fresh coffee grounds. Ensure the correct amount of coffee is used. Check if the coffee grounds are tamped correctly.
  • Steam not working: Ensure the Steam button ♨️ is pressed and the machine is heated. Check if the steam wand is clogged.
  • Leaking water: Ensure the water tank is seated correctly. Check if the metal funnel is locked properly.
