Wiring
Back View Description: The back of the switch shows terminals labeled SW1 through SW8 (for switch contacts), LED1 through LED8 (for LED indicators), and COM (common terminals). There is a P1 and P2 designation, and a removable "Common Jumper" (J1) that connects the LED and Switch Commons.
Wiring Steps:
- Connect the "Com" terminal (common) of the LVSW switch to the lighting control device as per the device's instructions. Note that both "Com" terminals are connected by default. Remove the "Common Jumper" if separate switch and LED commons are required.
- Connect the terminal corresponding to the button on the LVSW switch (SW1–SW8) to the input of the lighting control device.
- Connect the terminal corresponding to the LED pilot light on the LVSW button (LED1–LED8) to the pilot light output of the control device.
- Repeat for all buttons on the switch. Refer to the Button-Terminal Cross Reference for terminal assignments.
Important Warnings:
- ⚠️ WARNING: TURN THE POWER OFF AT THE CIRCUIT BREAKER BEFORE WIRING.
- ⚠️ Warning: For installation in UL Listed Junction Boxes or enclosures containing only Class 2 Wiring. Do not reclassify or install as Class 1, 3, or power and lighting wiring.
Button-Terminal Cross Reference
This section maps switch buttons to their corresponding terminals for different LVSW models. The diagrams illustrate the terminal layout for each model:
- LVSW-101: Features one button (SW1) and one LED (LED1), plus common terminals.
- LVSW-102: Features two buttons (SW1, SW2) and two LEDs (LED1, LED2), plus common terminals.
- LVSW-103: Features three buttons (SW1, SW2, SW3) and three LEDs (LED1, LED2, LED3), plus common terminals.
- LVSW-104: Features four buttons (SW1, SW2, SW3, SW4) and four LEDs (LED1, LED2, LED3, LED4), plus common terminals.
- LVSW-108: Features eight buttons (SW1–SW8) and eight LEDs (LED1–LED8), plus common terminals.
All models share common terminals. The specific terminal number for each button and LED is indicated in the detailed diagrams provided in the original document.
Mounting the Switch
The switch is installed into a single-gang wall box or a multi-gang switch box using the provided mounting screws. Ensure low voltage wires are carefully placed inside the box to avoid being pinched by the mounting plate. An appropriate switch cover plate (not supplied) is required to complete the installation.
