Safety Precautions and Important Information
This document provides essential safety information and guidelines for the Sony WH-CH520 Wireless Stereo Headset.
General Safety
- Do not install the product in confined spaces like bookcases or built-in cabinets.
- Avoid exposing batteries to excessive heat (sunshine, fire) or extreme low temperatures that could cause overheating or thermal runaway.
- Do not dismantle, open, or shred secondary batteries.
- In case of battery leakage, avoid contact with skin or eyes. Wash affected areas with water and seek medical advice.
- Charge secondary batteries before use, following manufacturer instructions.
- After long storage, charge and discharge batteries multiple times for maximum performance.
- Dispose of batteries properly. Rechargeable batteries are recyclable; visit http://www.sony.com/electronics/eco/environmental-management for recycling information.
- Do not handle damaged or leaking rechargeable batteries.
Usage Warnings
- High volume may adversely affect hearing.
- Do not use the unit while walking, driving, or cycling to prevent traffic accidents.
- Avoid use in hazardous areas where surrounding sound cannot be heard.
- The unit is not waterproof. Water or foreign matter entry may cause fire or electric shock. Stop use and consult a Sony dealer if this occurs. Be cautious near sinks, liquids, in rain/snow, or when perspiring.
- Never insert the USB plug when the unit or charging cable is wet to prevent short circuits and overheating.
- This product contains magnets that may interfere with medical devices like pacemakers. Consult a doctor before use if you use such devices.
- Magnets may affect magnetic stripe cards, rendering them unusable.
Static Electricity
Discomfort from static electricity in dry air is not a product malfunction. Wearing natural fiber clothing can reduce this effect.
Voice Guidance
The default voice guidance language is English. Guidance is provided for low battery, battery empty, battery level checks, and pairing mode.
Bluetooth® Communications
- Microwaves from Bluetooth devices may affect electronic medical devices. Turn off the unit and other Bluetooth devices in hospitals, near flammable gas, automatic doors, or fire alarms.
- Audio playback may be delayed compared to the transmitting device due to Bluetooth characteristics, potentially causing audio/video sync issues.
Charging
Always use the supplied USB Type-C cable.
Wearing the Unit
Ensure a proper seal over ears. Forcibly pressing or quickly removing headphones can damage eardrums. Speaker diaphragm click sounds are normal.
Other Notes
- Avoid applying weight or pressure to the unit for extended periods to prevent deformation.
- Discontinue use immediately if discomfort occurs.
- Consult your nearest Sony dealer for issues not covered in this guide.
