Connecting Your Equipment
External Speakers
Connect external self-powered speakers via the Audio Out port using a 3.5 mm stereo mini to RCA cable. Note: The projector's internal speaker is disabled when external speakers are connected.
Connecting the Projector
Video Device
Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the projector's HDMI port and the other end to an HDMI port on your video device. Multiple video devices can be connected; use the Source Search button on the projector or remote to switch.
Computer
Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the projector's HDMI port and the other end to an HDMI port on your computer. For more connection details (camera, USB flash drive), refer to the online User's Guide.
Connecting Audio
The projector's built-in speaker plays audio from sources connected via HDMI. For composite video connections (Home Cinema 1080), connect an RCA audio cable from the projector's audio input ports to your video device's audio output ports.
Turning On Your Equipment
- Turn on your computer or video source.
- Plug in the projector. The [power light] turns blue.
- Open the A/V Mute slide completely.
- Press the [power button] on the projector or remote. The projector beeps, the [Status light] flashes blue, then stays solid.
- To shut down, press the [power button] twice.
Use the arrow buttons on the remote to navigate the Home screen for switching sources and accessing adjustments.
The default menu language is English. To change it: Press the [Menu button] on the projector or remote, select Extended, then Language, choose your language, and press [Menu button] to exit.
Adjusting the Image
- If no image appears, press the [Source Search button] to select the correct source. If the screen remains blank, check troubleshooting tips.
- To raise the image, press the foot release button and lift the projector's front. Release the button to lock.
- For Home Cinema 880: Use the [E-Zoom buttons] on the remote to resize the image. For Home Cinema 1080: Turn the zoom ring to resize the image.
- To sharpen the image, turn the focus ring.
- If the image is trapezoidal (e.g., wider at the top than the bottom), the projector may be angled. Position it directly in front of the screen. If repositioning isn't possible, use the horizontal keystone slider on the projector to correct the shape.
- The projector automatically adjusts images that appear distorted. If needed, use the [up arrow button] or [down arrow button] on the projector to fine-tune.
Using the Remote Control
Install two AA batteries as shown.
Key functions include:
- [power button]: Turn projector on and off.
- [Menu button]: Access projector menus.
- Source buttons: Choose which source to display.
- Arrow buttons: Navigate projector menus.
- [A/V Mute slide]: Temporarily turn off projector display.
- [Home button]: Access the Home screen.

Mirroring a Mobile Device (Home Cinema 1080)
If your mobile device (laptop, smartphone, tablet) supports Miracast, you can wirelessly mirror its screen without additional software. Some restrictions apply; see the online User's Guide.
Select Screen Mirroring Settings
- Press the [Menu button] on the remote.
- Select the Network menu and press [select button].
- Set Screen Mirroring to On.
- Select Screen Mirroring Settings and press [select button] twice.
- Adjust any Screen Mirroring Settings options as needed (refer to User's Guide).
- Select Set when finished and follow on-screen instructions to save and exit.
Connecting Your Device
- Press the [LAN button] on the remote to display the Screen Mirroring standby screen.
- Use your device's Miracast function to search for the projector. A list of available devices will appear.
- If a PIN entry screen appears on your device, enter the PIN displayed on the projector's standby screen or projected image.
- The projector will display your device's image once connected.
Caution: Connection may take time. Do not disconnect power during connection to prevent device freezing or malfunction.
Troubleshooting
- No Signal: Ensure computer/video device is connected properly and press [Source Search button].
- Blank Screen: Check A/V Mute slide is open, [Status light] is solid blue (not flashing), and press [power button] to wake from standby/sleep.
- Blank Screen with Computer: For Windows laptops, try holding [Fn key] + [F7 key] or the external display function key. On Windows 7+, press [Windows key] + P, then select Duplicate. For Mac laptops, go to System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement and select Mirror Displays.
- Remote Control Unresponsive: Ensure batteries are installed correctly; replace if necessary.
