5 Additional Operation Features
Auto Changeover Mode
Auto Changeover mode, enabled/disabled in Installer Settings, automatically switches between heating and cooling. When selected, the system switches when room temperature meets set points. It requires a "dead band" setting (default 3°F) to prevent conflicts, meaning heat/cool set points cannot be within 3°F of each other.
Adaptive Recovery Mode (ARM™)
Adaptive Recovery Mode, enabled/disabled in Installer Settings, automatically reaches desired temperatures at the scheduled time. For example, it may turn on heating early to reach a set point by a specific time. This feature does not operate in HOLD mode, temporary override, or when emergency heat is selected on a multistage heat pump system.
Programmable Fan Mode
Selectable by pressing
until PROG appears. Available only in programmable mode. Allows the fan to run continuously during a selected program event. To use, select fan ON while setting program events.Compressor Protection
Compressor protection, enabled/disabled in Installer Settings, includes an automatic compressor delay to prevent short cycling damage. For multi-stage heat pump systems, it provides cold weather protection by locking out heating compressor stages after a power outage over 60 minutes. This can be manually overridden by switching the system mode to OFF momentarily, then back to HEAT.
Locking and Unlocking the Thermostat
Your 3-digit Lock Code is set in "User Options". To lock or unlock, press and hold
and for 5 seconds. The display shows "000" and "LOCK" flashing. Use the to enter the first digit, then press . Repeat for the second and third digits. Press to finish. If a valid code is entered, the thermostat locks or unlocks. "LOCKED" appears on the display. An invalid code results in "NO" appearing briefly.
AC Power Monitor
If enabled in Installer Settings and the thermostat is hardwired (with batteries as backup), this feature indicates a loss of power by displaying "NO POWR".
Indoor Remote Sensing
Achieved by installing a Braeburn® remote indoor sensor. If installed and configured, the thermostat senses temperature at a remote location or a combination of locations.
Outdoor Remote Sensing
Enabled by installing a Braeburn® remote outdoor sensor. No additional configuration is required. Press
and simultaneously to view the outdoor temperature.Humidification and Dehumidification
This thermostat can control humidification and dehumidification levels. Humidification can be manual or automatic (if a Braeburn® outdoor sensor is installed and configured).
To view current humidity, press
and simultaneously. If humidification/dehumidification is not enabled, only the current humidity level is shown. If humidification is enabled, the current humidity level and humidification set point are shown. Use the
to adjust the humidification set point. If dehumidification is enabled, the air conditioning system reduces humidity during cooling. The system may run until room temperature is several degrees below the cooling set point, or until the room humidity reaches the dehumidification set point.
If both humidification and dehumidification are enabled, the current humidity level and humidification set point are shown first. Adjust humidification set point with
. Press and again to display the dehumidification set point and adjust it with the .NOTE: Automatic Humidity Control may automatically adjust the humidification set point based on outdoor temperature.
When there is a call for humidification, a small water droplet symbol ? and "HUMID" appear. When there is a call for dehumidification, "DEHUMID" appears.
6 Thermostat Maintenance
Thermostat Cleaning
Never spray liquid directly on the thermostat. Wipe the outer body with a soft damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleansers.
Changing the Batteries
The thermostat requires two (2) AA alkaline batteries for clock maintenance and backup power if 24-volt AC power is not connected. (See Installer Manual).
A low battery indicator (? symbol) will appear in the display when batteries are low. Change batteries immediately by following these steps:
- Gently pull the thermostat body from its base.
- Remove old batteries and replace with new ones.
- Ensure correct positioning of the (+) and (-) terminals.
- Gently push the thermostat body back onto the base.
NOTE: Batteries should be replaced annually or if the thermostat will be unattended for an extended period.
