How to Use This Guide
This guide provides preheat and cook settings for various cooking styles on your Weber Spirit barbecue. For recipe inspiration and helpful videos, visit the Weber website.
Familiarize yourself with the icons and temperature ranges provided. Preheat your barbecue with the lid down before use; specific times vary. Cooking with the lid down is recommended for optimal Weber flavour and faster cooking.
Helpful Tips:
- Sear Zone: Your barbecue features a dedicated Sear Zone on the right-hand side with a boost setting for intense heat. Push the burner control knob in and turn counterclockwise to the sear position. Refer to your Owner's Manual for detailed guidance.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean your barbecue before each use by brushing the grills with a stainless-steel brush after preheating. A more thorough cleaning is recommended every 5 cooks. Refer to your Owner's Manual for detailed instructions.
Factors Affecting Cooking: The settings provided are suggestions tested in a sheltered environment at approximately 20°C. Adjust preheat times, cooking times, or settings based on your experience, conditions, and personal taste.

Direct Cooking
Direct cooking involves placing food directly above a heat source on the cooking grill. A variation uses a solid hotplate for foods that might fall through the grill, or a barbecue-safe saucepan for sauces and side dishes.

Indirect Cooking
Indirect cooking is used for roasting, baking, and low and slow cooking, where food is not placed directly over a heat source. By turning off one or more burners, convection heat circulates evenly around the food. Variations include using a rotisserie or smoker box for added flavour.
