5 Intended use

The battery is intended to be used in motorhomes, to provide energy to the appliances and equipment.

  • GP60, GP80, GP80S, GP90, GP90S, GP100, GP100B, GP120, GP140, GP150, GP200, GP210 and GP250 models: Batteries intended to be used with 12 V electrical systems.
  • GP6-235 models: Battery intended to be used with 6 V electrical systems.

This product is only suitable for the intended purpose and application in accordance with these instructions.

6 Target group

The electrical power supply must be connected by a qualified electrician who has demonstrated skill and knowledge related to the construction and operation of electrical equipment and installations, and who is familiar with the applicable regulations of the country in which the equipment is to be installed and/or used, and has received safety training to identify and avoid the hazards involved. [Icon description: A person with tools, representing a qualified professional.]

7 Technical description

The batteries are manufactured with absorbed glass mat (AGM) technology and are completely sealed. The batteries are employing oxygen recombination technology and are deep cycle batteries with valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) technology. The batteries are built with special high-density lead-calcium alloy plates, which increase charge retention, allowing low self-discharge and a high number of cycles. The featured separators with reinforced grids make the batteries resistant to vibration and promote perfect adhesion of the electrolyte to the plates.

8 Installation

WARNING! Damage hazard

When working around a battery, do not allow tools to bridge the battery terminals or short circuit any part of the battery.

NOTICE! Damage hazard

  • To prevent damage to the equipment, deactivate all loads and the charger before battery installation.
  • Battery cables must not be connected to the battery in reverse polarity, otherwise damage to the device may occur.
  • To prevent damage to the equipment, always connect the positive cable first.

Note: The battery can be installed in any position or angle.

1. Connect the battery cables. [Reference to Figure 1 on page 1, which shows a diagram of a bolt being tightened onto a battery terminal with a cable attached.]

2. To ensure a secure electrical contact, tighten the fasteners to the end of the threads, without using excessive force.

9 Operation

NOTICE! Damage hazard

To prevent sulfation of the battery, do not recharge the battery if the voltage is below 10 V.

Note: The alternator and any solar panels may not be sufficient to completely recharge the battery during the journey. Charging from the 230 V mains immediately after each discharge, avoids the process of sulfation of the plates.

  1. Always recharge the battery completely at the end of each use.
  2. Wait 12 hours and check that the voltage is at least 12.8 V.

Note: Do not use the battery if the voltage is below 11 V, as it may not provide enough power to the appliances and equipment.

10 Cleaning and maintenance

The batteries are maintenance-free. Occasionally clean the product with a damp cloth.

11 Storing

  • Before storing, fully charge the battery with a recommended battery charger for 1-2 days.
  • When the battery is not in use, ensure that the battery voltage does not drop below 12.6 V.
  • When storing the battery on longer term, completely recharge it every 30 days to prevent sulfation damage.

12 Troubleshooting
