B-B Door Closer Installation Instructions
Determine the Door Direction
This section illustrates how to determine the door direction (Left-open Door vs. Right-open Door) for installation.
Left-open Door: Pull side, inside view.
Right-open Door: Pull side, inside view.
Visual representation shows 'Pull' and 'Push' directions relative to the door's interior.
Adjustment After Installation
Instructions for adjusting closing speed and latching speed:
- Closing Speed Adjustment: Turn the regulating valve clockwise to slow down, counter-clockwise to speed up.
- Latching Speed Adjustment: A second regulating valve controls latching speed.
- Closing Power Adjustment: This involves adjusting the mounting base and hinges.
Visuals depict adjustment screws and their effect on closing power.
Standard Installation: Verticle Installation on Door of Pull Side
This covers the installation for a right-open door, with similar dimensions applying to a left-hand door measured from the hinge edge.
Components: Arm screw & washer, Mounting base, Speed regulating valve, Hinge center, Door frame, Door, Cover Cap.
Installation Instructions:
- Select the degree of opening and use the provided dimensions to mark holes on the door and door frame. Install the door closer.
- Place the main arm on the shaft of the door closer as illustrated.
- Ensure the regulating valve faces the hinge side when installing the door closer body.
- Attach the arm shoe of the forearm to the door frame.
- Adjust the forearm length so that when attached to the main arm, it forms a right angle (90°) with the door. Secure the elbow with a locknut and connect the forearm and main arm with a screw and washer.
- Place the cover cap over the shaft at the bottom of the closer and turn slightly to secure.
- Do not spin the regulating valve completely out of the mount, as this can cause oil leakage and unadjustment.
NOTICE: Before installing, do not spin the shaft beyond 180° for hold-open function door closers, as this can damage the closer.
Dimensions Table:
Installation dimensions | A | B | C | D | E | F | Opening angle | Door weight (single spring/double spring) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
B-B | 162 | 105 | 215 | 30 | 19 | 17 | 140° | 45kg / 70kg |
B-B | 162 | 90 | 200 | 30 | 19 | 17 | 160° | 45kg / 70kg |
Position and Installation of Arm
Diagrams show the correct positioning of the main arm on the shaft for both right-open and left-open doors.
Right-open door: Shows forearm, lock nut, and the position of the main arm installing on the shaft.
Left-open door: Shows forearm, lock nut, and the position of the main arm installing on the shaft.
Closing Speed Control
Notice: Do not spin the regulating valve out of the closer mount.
Standard closing circle: Illustrates the 10° closing angle.
Closing: Regulating closing door time from 90° to close should be 4-6 seconds. For elders and children, the closing time can be longer.
Door Frame Installation: Closer Mounted on Top Jamb on Push Side of Door
This section details the installation of the door closer mounted on the top jamb on the push side of the door.
Door closer for hand door installation diagram: Same dimensions apply for Right hand door measured from the hinge edge.
Components: Speed regulating valve, Hinge edge of door, Cover Cap, Door frame, Arm screw & washer, Door, Arm shoe, Side door frame.
Installation Instructions:
- Select the degree of opening and use the dimensions shown in the template to mark holes on the door and door frame. Install the door closer.
- Place the main arm on the shaft of the door closer as illustrated.
- When installing the door closer body, the regulating valve should face the hinge side.
- Attach the arm shoe of the forearm to the door frame.
- Adjust the forearm length so that when attached to the main arm, it forms a right angle (90°) with the door. Secure the elbow with a locknut. Connect the forearm and main arm with a screw and washer.
- Place the cover cap over the shaft at the bottom of the closer and turn slightly to secure.
- Do not spin the regulating valve out of the closer mount, as this can cause oil leakage and unadjustment.
- For door frames thicker than 50mm, a longer straight arm may be required.
Dimensions Table:
Installation dimensions | A | B | C | D | E | F | Opening angle | Door weight (single spring/double spring) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
B-B | 162 | 90 | 230 | 30 | 19 | 17 | 160° | 45kg / 70kg |
Notice: Parallel arm installation requires a flower hole arm and parallel bracket. This product does not include these.
Parallel Arm Installation: Closer Mounted on Door on Push Side
This section details the parallel arm installation, where the closer is mounted on the door on the push side.
Door closer for right hand door installing drawing: Same dimensions apply for Right hand door measured from the hinge edge.
Components: Hinge edge of door, Door frame, Speed regulating valve toward hinge edge of door, Side door frame, Door, Parallel bracket.
Installation Instructions:
- Select the degree of opening and use the dimensions shown in the template to mark holes on the door and door frame. Install the door closer. (Ensure valves face the hinge.)
- Install the mounting bracket onto the frame as shown in the diagram.
- Turn the axle of the door closer approximately 45° using a spanner. Fix the moving arm onto the axle and tighten the screw. The moving arm should pre-press onto the door.
- Adjust the forearm length so the moving arm is parallel to the frame. Connect the forearm and moving arm with a washer and screw.
- Place the cover cap over the shaft at the bottom of the closer and turn slightly to secure.
- Do not spin the regulating valve out of the closer mount, as this can cause oil leakage and unadjustment.
Dimensions Table:
Installation dimensions | A | B | C | D | E | F | Opening angle | Door weight (single spring/double spring) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
B-B | 162 | 120 | 120 | 10 | 19 | 73 | 160° | 45kg / 70kg |
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Allow the door closer to close the door using its own power. Do not apply additional force, as this may damage the door closer.
