This document provides essential installation instructions for the Weintek cMT-G06X series Human Machine Interface (HMI) devices.
The cMT-G06X series is designed for industrial applications and requires careful installation to ensure optimal performance and safety. It conforms to European CE requirements for electrical noise resistance. Key environmental considerations include operating limits, avoiding flammable gases or dusts, and protection against acid gases like SO2. The device is rated IP20 and suitable for Pollution Degree 2 environments with a relative humidity of 10% to 90% (non-condensing). Proper wire routing and grounding are crucial.
Unpacking: Carefully unpack and check the unit for any damage. Place the device on a stable surface during installation to prevent damage from dropping.
Mounting: The cMT-G06X supports DIN rail mounting (35mm) or panel mounting using M4 or #8 panhead screws. Ensure adequate space for ventilation and cables, considering heat from other devices. The ambient temperature range is -20°C to 55°C.
Power Connections: Use a DC power supply within the 24VDC (±20%) range, meeting SELV requirements. Ensure correct polarity connection to the '+' and '-' terminals. Power connector specifications include wire AWG (24-12), minimum conductor temperature (75°C), and screw torque (4.5 lbf-in max.). Only copper conductors are supported.
System Settings: Connect the cMT-G06X to a router via RJ-45 Ethernet cable. Access system settings through a web browser using the device's IP address (default password: "111111").
Software Configuration: Utilize EasyBuilder Pro software for project file downloads. Press F7 to open the download dialog, select Ethernet, choose the HMI name, and click Download. Be mindful of flash memory lifespan and data writing frequency.
Communication: Supports RS-232 and RS-485 (2W/4W) communication via D-SUB connectors. COM2 and COM3 (RS485 2W) support MPI 187.5K, but only one can be used at a time.
DIP Switch Settings: Various DIP switch configurations allow for normal mode, restoring Ethernet IP settings, boot loader mode, or restoring factory defaults (which clears all data).
Battery Replacement: Battery replacement (Type CR1220, 3V) should only be performed by qualified personnel. Refer to the Weintek website for detailed procedures: http://www.weintek.com/download/MT8000/eng/FAQ/FAQ_103_Replace_Battery_en.pdf
Safety Warnings: Adhere to all local and national electrical standards. Ensure proper isolation for DC voltage sources. A hard-wired EMERGENCY STOP is recommended for compliance with ICS Safety Recommendations. Avoid powering the unit and inductive loads from the same supply. Follow wire routing guidelines to minimize interference and protect against surges.
Limited Warranty: The product comes with a limited warranty covering defects in design and manufacture for 12 months from the manufacturing date. Exclusions apply for damage due to misuse, accidents, or unauthorized repairs.
