Product Description
The TPP TubeSpin® bioreactor is designed for high-throughput screening, cultivation, and optimization processes of prokaryotic (aerobic bacteria) and eukaryotic (yeasts, algae, HEK, CHO, Sf-9) suspension cells. It is available with a filter screw cap featuring 5 or 10 openings covered by a PTFE filter membrane. The bioreactor is intended for single-use only.
Important Notes and Safety Precautions
- Handle biological material in accordance with national regulations and use appropriate protective clothing.
- Adhere to aseptic working practices throughout all procedures.
Instructions for Use
- Inspect the packaging material and the product for intactness. Use only faultless material.
- Verify the expiry date (EXP) on the label and packaging. Ensure products have a valid EXP.
- Open the packaging in a sterile environment and remove a complete system for use.
- Open the bioreactor and fill it with the appropriate medium and inoculum according to your laboratory routine. Refer to the technical data for optimal filling quantities.
- Close the filter screw cap with ventilation holes. Continuous gas exchange is facilitated through the integrated hydrophobic membrane (0.22 μm).
- If aeration/gas exchange needs to be reduced, individual openings may be closed using lab-appropriate labels or tape.
Cultivation and Shaking
- Cultivate: Shake cells in appropriate incubation shakers, adhering to the specific cultivation conditions for the cells (temperature, CO2 and humidity control, shaking frequency).
- Shakers: Follow the safety instructions and operating instructions provided by the shaker manufacturer.
Centrifugation
- Centrifuging: It is recommended to use suitable rotors or centrifuge adapters. Comply with the safety instructions of the centrifuge manufacturer.
- The mechanical strength of the tubes during centrifugation is influenced by:- Shape and material
- Accuracy of fit in the centrifuge adapter
- Temperature, centrifugation time, and g-force
- Chemical and physical properties of the centrifuged material
- Rotor type (fixed-angle or swing-out rotor)

- Conduct a test run with your chosen parameters before routine use.
Storage
- Store before use at room temperature, protected from UV light.
- For storage in sub-zero temperatures, transfer samples to TPP cryo tubes. If storing the TubeSpin® bioreactor in a sub-zero temperature range, TPP recommends testing the product beforehand under your specific conditions.
- TPP assumes no liability for damage caused by, during, or due to the use of centrifuge tubes in freezing processes.
Remarks and Recommendations
- The graduation markings serve as a guide for filling quantity and are not absolute values.
- Alcohol 90% with mechanical stress (rubbing) may dissolve or blur the white print.
