5 Maximum Distances for Power Sources

Multiple PoE Extenders can be connected every 100 meters to obtain greater distances. The actual figures depend on operating conditions. The range is over 24AWG or heavier Cat-5e or Cat-6 cable except where specified.

1 Hardware Connection

Diagram Description: A PoE+ Switch connects to a PoE Extender via a network cable up to 100 meters. The PoE Extender then connects to a camera via another network cable, also up to 100 meters. This setup can be extended.

Extended Distance Setup: A PoE+ Switch can be connected to up to three PoE Extenders in series, each separated by up to 100 meters of cable, to extend the total distance to a camera up to 400 meters.

2 Description

Cudy Gigabit PoE+ Extender helps install PDs (such as IP Security Cameras, wireless access points) at greater distances than 100 meters. By connecting a PoE+ Extender for every extra 100 meters of cable, both Ethernet and PoE can be extended to up to a total distance of 200 meters. It does not require any additional power supply; the connected PDs are fed by a single PoE switch or mid-span, which simplifies installation.
