2 Important Safety Instructions

These appliances are intended for commercial applications (restaurant kitchens, canteens, hospitals, bakeries, delicatessens) but not for continuous mass production.

Connect only to a power source matching the nameplate voltage and applicable standards. Ensure the power outlet has earth contact and the electrical system complies with regulations.

If the plug/socket is incompatible, have it replaced by qualified personnel. Do not use extension cords or adapters.

It is recommended that the power outlet is protected by a 0.03 A (30mA) differential switch.

Connect an equipotential bonding conductor to the M5 clamp near the power cable input. The clamp, if present, is identified with the [earth-symbol].

Always unplug after each use, before cleaning, and before storing. Never remove the plug by pulling the connection cable. Do not let the cable hang down or touch hot surfaces.

Place the appliance away from walls, kitchen furniture, and decorative finishes made of combustible materials. Maintain a minimum distance of 20 cm from surrounding walls and a large distance from the ceiling.

Do not cover the device; this poses a fire hazard. Do not obstruct ventilation openings during use.

In case of damage, the power cable must be replaced with an original cable by competent personnel.

Never use a dropped or visibly damaged device. Have repairs done by competent personnel. Ensure the support surface is stable and resistant to heat and weight.

Ensure the plug is always accessible and the data sheet is visible after installation. Do not use the lever (4) as a carrying handle.

Do not leave unattended during use. Do not allow children or disabled people to use it.

Do not use in humid environments or outdoors. Do not immerse in water or other liquids. Do not place on hot surfaces or near flames. Keep in a dry, frost-free place. The appliance is not water jet proof.

Disconnect the plug when not in use or before moving. Prevent the power cord from contacting the appliance. Ensure children cannot pull the cord or cause damage. Inform other users of potential dangers.

[warning-symbol] Danger of burns: Do not touch hot surfaces. Always use handles and control knobs. Allow the appliance to cool down before moving. Do not use if exposed to temperatures below 0°C in the previous 24 hours.

[warning-symbol] WARNING: If the heating surface has cracks, immediately disconnect the appliance from the power supply.

[warning-symbol] WARNING: Do not use the heating surfaces for storage.

3 Device Connection, Usage and Operation

For commercial use only

The GLASS CERAMIC contact grill uses fixed and mobile glass ceramic heating surfaces for infrared and contact cooking. Food is placed on the fixed surface and can contact the mobile surface for enhanced heating.

Suitable for cooking toast, sandwiches, meat, fish, vegetables, cheese, etc. Any other use is considered improper and dangerous. The GLASS CERAMIC PLATES are food-safe and easy to clean.

Operation

The grill operates automatically via the adjustable thermostat knob (1). Temperature is maintained at the set value.

Insert the power plug and turn the switch (2) to the ON position. Adjust temperature by turning the thermostat knob (1) clockwise (higher) or counterclockwise (lower).

The orange indicator light on the switch (2) shows the GLASS CERAMIC PLATE is heating up. This occurs when the switch is ON and the thermostat is not at 0. The plate will not work if the switch is OFF.

Disconnect the power plug after use.

In 1706x models with 2 switches, the right side is controlled by the right switch/thermostat, and the left side by the left switch/thermostat.

4 Recommendations for Use

Always follow safety requirements (Chap. 2). Best results are achieved with surfaces used multiple times. Optimal cooking time depends on food quality, freshness, weight, thickness, consistency, and individual preferences. Thinner or more heat-sensitive food requires lower grill temperature and shorter cooking time.

Experiment to establish ideal cooking times. Food cooked on the GLASS CERAMIC PLATE can be very hot; handle with care.

5 Cleaning

Before cleaning, unplug the device and allow it to cool to room temperature. Empty the grease tray (3) after each use.

Clean the slightly warm heating surface daily with a damp cloth, removing food and fat residues from the cooking zone and surrounding areas.

Use of the scraper on the glass ceramic hob surface is allowed.

The use of brushes, abrasive products, sponges, or scouring pads that scratch is NOT advised.

Aggressive detergents (oven sprays) and stain removal products are NOT allowed.

Immediately remove aluminum foil, plastic objects, synthetic materials, or sugar-based substances that have liquefied on the hob.

Regular cleaning of the glass ceramic plate ensures high cooking yields.

6 Maintenance

In case of a fault, contact the manufacturer. If used frequently, check the device, connection cable, hinges, screws, thermostat, and on/off switch with indicator light at least annually. Only original spare parts should be used.

7 Disposal

The [recycle-symbol] on the device and packaging indicates it should not be treated as ordinary household waste. Consumers are obliged to dispose of old devices separately at designated collection points. This ensures proper recycling and avoids negative environmental effects. Glass ceramic heaters must be disposed of as ceramic, not glass.

8 Warranty

  1. The warranty covers manufacturing defects.
  2. Duration is one year from the purchase date, including spare parts and labor. Warranty service is at the retailer's laboratory; transport costs are the customer's responsibility. Replaced parts become the retailer's property.
  3. The warranty is valid in all European Union countries.
  4. The warranty does not cover: breakages from knocks/falls, connections to higher voltage, normal wear, or damage from neglect/tampering.
  5. The manufacturer is not liable for material damage or accidents resulting from installations not complying with safety standards, faulty power sockets, absence of earth connection, or product unsuitability for the intended use.
