Assembly Steps
Step 1: Unpack Components
The image shows all the components laid out: the telescope optical tube, the finderscope, the tripod legs, the mount, eyepieces, accessory tray, and other small parts.
Step 2: Set Up Tripod Legs
To set up the tripod, spread the legs outward until they are fully extended. Extend each of the three tripod legs down 6-12 inches.
Step 3: Secure Tripod Legs
Use the three tightening screws located at the bottom of each leg to secure the extended legs in place.
Step 4: Ensure Level Platform
All three legs should be the same length to provide a level platform for the telescope.
Step 5: Attach Accessory Tray
To attach the accessory tray, line up notches and turn clockwise until tray tabs lock into place with the tripod brackets.
Step 6: Accessory Tray Assembled
Properly assembled, the accessory tray should appear as pictured above, securely attached to the tripod legs.
Step 7: Tripod and Mount Assembly
Here is how the fully assembled tripod and mount should appear. The altazimuth mount is attached to the top of the tripod.
Step 8: Mount Telescope Tube
Next, slide the telescope tube into the mount. Be sure to back out fastening screws to allow enough clearance for the dovetail. The image shows the telescope tube's dovetail fitting into the mount's clamp.
Step 9: Secure Telescope Tube
Center the dovetail in the mount and tighten the fastening screw. For added security, tighten the angled lock-down screw next to the fastening screw. The image shows the securing screws being tightened.
Step 10: Prepare Focuser
Loosen the set screw on the focuser. Remove the plastic cap covering the end of the focuser.
Step 11: Insert Diagonal
Insert the diagonal into the focuser and tighten the set screw.
Step 12: Insert Eyepiece
Insert the chrome barrel of the 20 mm eyepiece into the diagonal and tighten the set screw.
Step 13: Attach Finderscope
Loosen the two Philips-head screws on the side of the finderscope and slide the clamp over the dovetail bracket. Secure the finderscope in place by tightening the two Philips-head screws.
Step 14: Prepare Finderscope Battery
Remove the small plastic tab under the battery cover by pulling it straight out. For longer battery life, be sure to turn off the finderscope when not in use. The image shows the finderscope with its battery compartment and an on/off switch. ? ⚙️
