LYSEKIL Wall Panel Installation
This guide provides instructions for installing the LYSEKIL wall panel from IKEA.
Preparation and Cutting
The edges of the wall panel may splinter while being sawn. For as clean a cut as possible, saw the wall panel with the front downwards. Be aware that removing the panels later can result in damage to the wall.
Gather necessary tools such as a jigsaw, tape measure, and sealant applicator (e.g., caulk gun).
Fixing and Sealing
IMPORTANT: Adhesive to fix panels to the wall is not supplied. Make sure you choose an adhesive or fixing material that is strong enough and is suitable for the surface of the wall in question, for example, silicone. Different walls have different surface structures, so it is important to adapt the amount of fixing material you use to the type of wall you are covering. If you are unsure, contact your local specialist retailer.
After the panels have been fitted in place, seal with silicone to prevent the penetration of any moisture.
Installation Steps
- Prepare the wall surface.
- Apply adhesive to the back of the wall panel.
- Apply adhesive in a continuous wavy pattern across the panel's surface using a sealant applicator.
- Carefully position the panel against the wall.
- Measure and mark the required cut line on the panel.
- Use a jigsaw to cut the panel along the marked line.
- Attach the cut panel securely to the wall.
Important Notes
- Ensure the wall surface is prepared and suitable for fixing.
- If unsure about the process, seek advice from a specialist.
- Note that removing the panels later may cause damage to the wall.
