Connecting the Mixer
This section describes how to connect various audio devices to the MXU4-FX mixer.
Diagram Description: The diagram shows connections for a computer (via USB), headphones (to the front panel headphone jack), an electric keyboard (to CH3/4 LINE inputs), an electric guitar (to CH1/CH2 MIC/LINE inputs), microphones (to CH1/CH2 MIC/LINE inputs), a smartphone (via USB), a headset with microphone (to the headset input), and main output speakers (to the rear panel MAIN L/R output jacks).
Product Overview
The CAD MXU4-FX is a multipurpose 4-Channel analog mixer featuring a built-in USB interface and digital effects processor. It offers 2 mic/line inputs, 2 mono/1 stereo line inputs, on-board 2-band EQ, and +48V phantom power. It is an ideal compact option for live performance, broadcasting, podcasting, or home recording.
Features:
- USB output connects to a computer for recording or podcasting.
- USB input for playing MP3/WAV files from a flash drive.
- +48V phantom power for condenser microphones.
- 2-band EQ per channel.
- Built-in effects processor with 88 presets for chorus, delay, reverb, and more.
Mixer Basics: Where Your Sound Goes
The signal flow involves inputting sound from a microphone or instrument, adjusting volume, tone, and effects for each channel, the combined sound flowing to the output, final volume adjustment, and outputting to speakers or headphones. Note: Turn on the +48V phantom power supply when using a condenser microphone.
Basic Operation: Power Connection
- Ensure all switches on the device are off and the USB data line is not inserted.
- Connect the attached USB data line: Align the USB data cable plug with the device back panel interface and insert it.
- Connect the USB data cable to the USB power adapter.
- Plug the power adapter into a standard AC power socket [~AC 100-240 50Hz/60Hz].
Rear Panel: Features a USB POWER input (5V DC).
Controls and Functions
