Preface

The SEED-710A-55 is a new generation display screen from Shanghai Rising Digital Co.,Ltd. It serves as a monitoring and control platform specifically designed for construction machinery products. This display screen is built on the Cortex-A9 platform and utilizes a new digital display scheme, offering high resolution and excellent human-computer interaction performance. It features capacitive touch, multimedia video entertainment, 4G communication, GPS positioning, camera, and radio functions. It is suitable for complex environments such as construction machinery, mining, chemical industry, and factory automation, providing powerful functionality and high reliability. The display component is a 7.0-inch TFT LCD with an 800 × 480 resolution, featuring a flat front panel design and an attractive industrial appearance.

2. Installation Dimensions

The outer ring is fixed with 4 × M6 screws (including spring washer and flat washer), and the inner ring is fixed with 4 × M5 screws (including spring washer and flat washer).

3. Product Program Download and Upgrade

3.1 Hardware Development Platform

To download and upgrade the display program, loosen the screw of the metal cover plate on the left side of the display screen. Connect the computer using a USB data cable and download/upgrade the program via the upper computer. The USB interface is also used for screen program debugging.

The electrical connector must be equipped when purchasing the product. The recommended table is as follows:

3.2 Software Development Platform

Supports QT configuration software and a standard IDE development environment for developing QT application programs according to project requirements. Commonly used sample programs and rapid application development are available, including:

3.3 Program Burning

3.3.1 QT Application Program Burning

  1. Create an 'app' folder on the root directory of a U disk and place the QT configuration program there.
  2. Connect the U disk to the USB port on the back of the display screen. When the main board is powered on, the display screen will show the configuration selection. Click "burn"; the U disk indicator light will flash, and the burning progress will be displayed.
  3. After burning, the display screen will automatically restart to complete the process without requiring a power cycle.

3.3.2 Kernel and Device Tree Burning

  1. Connect the upper USB port and notebook behind the display screen via a USB adapter.
  2. Turn off the firewall of the laptop's Windows system.
  3. If the RNDIS network device is not recognized in "Device Manager → Network Adapter", install the RNDIS driver.
  4. Set the IP address (display IP) and server IP (computer IP) to be in the same network segment.
    • Set computer IP: 192.168.1.66
    • Set display screen IP: 192.168.1.62 (default, cannot be modified).
  5. Restart the display screen and enter uboot mode. Enter the following commands in the serial console:
    • setenv serverip 192.168.1.66
    • setenv ipaddr 192.168.1.62
    • saveenv
  6. Create a folder on the desktop and place tftpd32.exe, the kernel, and the device tree in this directory.
    • Open tftpd32.exe, select the "Server Interface" option, and choose the native IP: 192.168.1.66.
    • Update the device tree by entering the command `run update_FDT` in the serial console.
    • Update the kernel by entering the command `run update_kernel` in the serial console.

4. Connection with External Controller

The device connects with external controllers via CAN bus and supports protocols such as CAN2.0B, CANopen, and J1939.

6. Operating Instructions

Bluetooth

Turn on and find the Bluetooth logo on the main interface ?. Turn on the switch ⚙️, search for the device, and connect to use.

4G

Plug in the SIM card. The traffic will be turned on by default after power on. Upload data to the remote monitoring center and receive data from the monitoring center.

GPS

After power on, the GPS function automatically turns on to determine the device's location.

FM

Turn on and find the Music logo on the main interface ?, click to enter. Select Radio ?, select or switch the channel to use it directly.
