The BLU-GM2 Bluetooth music module works on CD changer controlling radios (SOURCE button) and replaces CD changer (if present). A wireless connection means no wires, clutter or complicated setup. All the user has to do is connect the module to the 10-pin plug reserved for factory CD changer (must have 10-pin plug), pair Smartphone, Tablet etc. and enjoy tons of applications including Pandora, Apple music, GPS and more on car stereo. See Frequently Asked question at the end of this guide for details. Module connects to 10-pin plug reserved for optional CD changer in remote area (Glovebox, armrest, trunk/hatch etc.) If vehicle does not have the 10-pin plug, purchase our A2D-GM32 instead and install at the radio. Please verify vehicle has required 10-pin plug (See Fig. 1) prior to ordering. Installation (to 10-pin CD plug) 1. Locate factory 10-pin plug in remote area (e.g., armrest, glovebox, hatch, trunk etc.) Note: CD changer (if present) must be disconnected and will no longer function. 2. Connect factory 10-pin plug (See Fig. 1) to installation harness 10-pin socket (white) (See Fig. 2 & 3) Fig. 1 Fig. 2 3. Connect/Tap red wire to 12V ACC (Accessory) supply in vehicle. Accessory supply available when ignition key is in ACC position or beyond. Avoid connecting red wire to battery supply (always on). Noteworthy: If streaming becomes intermittent (especially while driving) or when headlights, wipers, defroster, A/C and other accessories are turned on; the ACC circuit used to power module is being drawn down causing it to turn on/off intermittently. To resolve find an alternate 12V ACC circuit and preferable one that has no other devices drawing from it. Also, on rare instances when smart device volume is set too high, "clipping" may occur and as a result the module will un-pair/pair intermittently. To resolve, slightly lower volume on audio device. Pairing Pairing process varies among devices but basic steps are the same. This process is done upon initial install and will not have to be repeated. 1. Turn Ignition and radio "ON" 2. Blue LED through peephole will flash (pairing mode) 3. On A2DP device: go to Settings, Wireless & Networks, Bluetooth Settings and enable Bluetooth (if not already) 4. Select Bluetooth settings 5. Tap Scan for devices. 6. Wait for Bluetooth device name to appear and select it. (See below) Optional Remote Control: Purchase optional Bluetooth wireless remote to control music apps while keeping eyes on the road. This remote control allows users to: 1. Control music wirelessly 2. Activate Phone commands (Google play)--Not for Siri 3. Track up/down 4. Volume up/down Pairing: Operation 1. Turn ignition/radio "ON" 2. Press "SOURCE" button on radio 3. Launch Smartphone or tablet streaming application. 4. Use radio volume control button to set playback level. Playlist and Track selection is *NOT* possible from the radio. Use the smart device built-in controls, touch screen or optional remote control to access and control audio files. 5. If correct operation is confirmed go ahead and reinstall radio or panels. Operation: Use wireless remote to perform the following functions on any iOS7.0 and higher or Android 4.4 and higher. (This remote does not control GM radio functions) Feature comparison chart You may have seen or heard of the many different cables and adapters we offer for your car, Van SUV or truck.
