Part 1: Connect Your Device to the Router

You can connect your computer or smart device to the router either wirelessly or via an Ethernet cable.

Wireless Connection:
  1. Enable the WLAN (WiFi) function on your smart device or PC.
  2. Look for the default SSID (network name) printed on the router's label (e.g., CONNECTIZE-XXXXXX-5G).
  3. Join the default SSID from the list of available networks on your device.

Default SSID Information: The default SSID is printed on the label of the router.

Wired Connection:
  1. For a wired connection, use an Ethernet cable to connect your computer to one of the router's LAN ports.

Part 2: Connect the Router to the Internet

  1. Log in to the router: Launch a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge) on your connected device. Enter http://connectizewifi.com or 192.168.5.1 in the address bar and press Enter. The login page will appear. The default login password is admin.
  2. Choose the connection type: The router's setup wizard will guide you. It attempts to detect your Internet connection type automatically. If detection fails, you will need to select the connection type manually (e.g., DHCP, PPPoE, Static IP) based on information provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Click "Next" to proceed.Note: If you click "Skip Wizard", the router will use the auto-detected connection type, and default login password, SSID, and WiFi password will be applied.
  3. Set WiFi Name, WiFi Password, and Login Password:
    • Set your desired WiFi Name (SSID) for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
    • Set a strong WiFi Password for your wireless network.
    • Set a new Login Password for accessing the router's management interface. It is advised to set a stronger password than the default admin to ensure a secure network.

Click "Apply Settings" to save your configurations.

Follow the remaining step-by-step instructions in the Quick Setup Wizard to complete the internet connection.

Additional Features and Information

Ways to Reset the Router

AP (Access Point) Mode

In AP Mode, the Connectize router acts as a WiFi extender, converting a wired network into a wireless one and extending the WiFi range.

  1. Connect to Existing Router: Connect the Connectize router's WAN or LAN port to your existing router's Ethernet port using an Ethernet cable.
  2. Connect a Computer: Connect a computer to the Connectize router using an Ethernet cable, or wirelessly by joining the router's default SSID.
  3. Log in to Connectize Router: Visit http://connectizewifi.com in a browser and log in. Follow the initial setup instructions if this is the first time.
  4. Enable AP Mode: Navigate to Internet Settings, select "Bridge (AP)" as the Connection Type, and click "Save & Apply". Wait for the router to reboot; AP Mode setup will complete automatically.

USB Sharing

You can share USB drives on your network. Insert a USB device (NTFS format is advised) into the router first. Then, configure your account and folder permissions on the router's USB-related pages.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q1: What connection type should I choose if the router failed to detect my Internet connection automatically?
  • PPPoE: Use if your ISP provided a PPPoE username and password.
  • DHCP: Choose this if your ISP automatically assigns an IP address.
  • Static IP: Use if your ISP provided specific IP address configurations.
Q2: Why can't I access the Internet after installing the router?
  • First, connect a computer directly to the modem via Ethernet cable to check if Internet access is available. If not, contact your ISP.
  • Ensure the router's WAN port is properly connected to the modem and check the WAN LED status.
  • For wired devices: Confirm the PC is connected to a LAN port and set to obtain an IP address and DNS server address automatically.
  • For WiFi devices: Reboot the router and reconnect to WiFi. If issues persist, perform a factory reset and repeat the setup process.
Q3: Why can't I access the web management page?
  • Ensure your computer is set to obtain an IP address automatically.
  • Disable any proxy servers or VPN software.
  • Disable and re-enable your computer's network adapter.
  • Verify that http://connectizewifi.com or 192.168.5.1 is entered correctly in the web browser.
  • Try using a different web browser or rebooting the router.
Q4: Why is my download speed not reaching the advertised rate?
  • 2.4GHz WiFi generally offers lower speeds than 5GHz WiFi. Wired connections are typically faster than wireless.
  • Check if multiple users are sharing the connection simultaneously. You may need to limit their bandwidth or block them via the web management page.
  • Verify your ISP's Internet speed and link quality. For example, a 100Mbps connection typically yields up to 12.5MBps download speed (1 Byte = 8 bits). Actual speeds can vary due to transmission loss.
  • Position the router centrally in your home, with antennas upright, for better wireless performance.
  • Use a Cat5e Ethernet cable or better for connecting the modem to the router's gigabit port.
