- Installation of a built-in panel requires access to electrical connection areas. This installation must be performed by a trained service technician supported by Fisher & Paykel or a qualified person.
- Before installing the front panel, ensure the dishwasher is disconnected from the power supply.
- After installing the front panel, the installer must ensure that the following components are grounded: the panel mounting piece and all custom metal components (e.g., handle) that protrude from the rubber seal.
- This appliance must be grounded. In case of malfunction or breakage, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance for electrical current. This appliance is equipped with a power cord with a grounding conductor and plug.
- Before installing the DishDrawer™ dishwasher, remove the house fuse or turn off the circuit breaker.
- The plug must be inserted into a properly installed and grounded outlet in accordance with all local codes and regulations.
- Do not modify the plug supplied with the appliance. If you cannot insert it into the wall outlet, have a suitable outlet installed by a qualified electrician. Do not use an extension cord, adapter plug, or multi-outlet box.
- The dishwasher must be fully recessed at the time of installation.

Servicing
- Do not repair or replace any part of this appliance unless specifically recommended in this guide. All other work must be performed by a trained service technician supported by Fisher & Paykel or a qualified person.
Installation
- Installation of this DishDrawer™ dishwasher requires basic knowledge of mechanics and electricity.
- Installation must comply with local building regulations and electrical codes.
- Remove all packaging materials supplied with the dishwasher.
- Ensure these instructions are given to the customer.
- Upon completion of installation, the installer must complete the final checklist.
- This dishwasher is designed for indoor use only.
- Ensure all water connections are turned OFF. The plumber and electrician are responsible for ensuring each installation complies with all codes and regulations.
- The DishDrawer™ dishwasher MUST be installed to allow its removal from the installation location when repair is necessary.
- The switched power outlet must be located outside the dishwasher cavity so it remains accessible after installation.
- Take all necessary precautions during installation or removal of the appliance to avoid damaging the power cord and hoses.
- If the DishDrawer™ dishwasher is to be moved from one installation site to another, transport it vertically to prevent damage from water spills.
- Ensure connections are made using only the supplied hoses. Old hoses must not be reused.
- Failure to install the appliance correctly may void the warranty and any claims.
- If the product is installed in a motor vehicle, boat, or similar mobile installation, you must, at your expense, bring the vehicle, boat, or mobile installation containing the product to the repair shop or pay for the technician's travel to the product's location.

Custom Panel Dimensions
Material Characteristics
- The maximum panel weight must not exceed 19 lb (9 kg) (including the handle).
- The panel must be adequately sealed to resist moisture (122 °F/50 °C at 80% RH). The back and sides of the panel must be fully sealed with a vapor-impermeable barrier, such as polyurethane, to prevent damage.
- The rear of the panel must be perfectly aligned so that the seal is maintained between the panel and the rubber trim.
- Installations that do not comply with these characteristics may cause condensation on cabinet surfaces.

Considerations for Plumbing and Electrical Connections
Hose and Power Cord Lengths
- Connections can be installed to the left or right of the product, in an adjacent cabinet. Refer to 'Cabinet Preparation' for connection access requirements.
- If the supplied drain hoses are not long enough to connect, a Fisher & Paykel drain hose extension kit is available to extend drain hoses by 3.6 m (part number 525798).
Water Supply Connection
- Recommended water temperature: Hot (Maximum 140 °F/60 °C).
- Hose supplied for 3/8 in (9 mm) male compression fitting.
- Ensure the water supply connection complies with local plumbing codes.
Water Pressure
- Models with water softener: max. 1 MPa (145 psi), min. 0.1 MPa (14.5 psi).
- Models without water softener: max. 1 MPa (145 psi), min. 0.03 MPa (4.3 psi).
Electrical Requirements
- 120V, 60Hz, minimum 5A circuit.

Wiring (Optional)
You have the option to wire your DishDrawer™ dishwasher with a permanent connection. To do so, we recommend removing the supplied power cord and performing the wiring installation as close to the cavity as possible.
- Open the drawer and push the two locking tabs backward to release it.
- Lift the drawer off the slides and set it aside carefully on a protected surface. Push the slides inward.
- Take care not to pull the drawer too far out to avoid tension on the hoses. Where possible, protect the bottom of the tub to prevent damage.
- Remove the cover retaining screw. Set it aside.
- Lift the cover upwards until it can be pulled off.
- Unscrew the live, neutral, and ground wires as illustrated. Ensure you do not remove the top ground wire.
- Carefully remove the product cord. Set aside the toroidal transformer for later use.
- Install a cable clamp suitable for the conduit into the knock-out hole. Route the wiring behind the tab and through the previously removed toroidal transformer. Ensure you use only copper conductors.
- Secure the live and neutral wires to the terminal block and the ground wire to the chassis.
- Position the cover fill valve in place before lowering the remaining part of the cover into position.
- Lower the cover to replace it, ensuring the locking clips align, the rear hook is positioned on the slot, and the L-shaped spline is clear.
- Reinsert the clips by pressing firmly on the cover. Ensure all illustrated areas are engaged.
- Reinstall the screw to secure the cover.
- Before reinstalling the drawer, ensure the hoses are not kinked. Reinstall the drawer onto the slides and engage it in place using the two locking tabs.
Cabinet Preparation
Accessing Connections
- Connection holes can be located on either side of the DishDrawer™ dishwasher cavity, as illustrated below.
- If the hole is drilled in a wood panel, ensure its edges are rounded.
- If the hole is drilled in a metal panel, ensure the supplied edge protector is applied.

Moisture Protection

Align the moisture-resistant tape supplied onto the cabinets as illustrated.
Ensure this area is free of debris before carefully applying the tape to the surface.
External Ventilation Preparation
To prevent condensation buildup from your DishDrawer™ dishwasher, install the external ventilation kit using one of the following options:
THROUGH THE SAME CABINET

- A plinth height of at least 3 15/16 in (100 mm) is required.
- A Ø2 1/4 in (Ø57 mm) connection hole must be drilled through the wall following the instructions in the 'Cabinet Preparation' section. Additionally, a second Ø2 1/4 in (Ø57 mm) connection hole must also be drilled through the shelf and the cabinet base to allow passage of the ventilation hose.
- Cabinets without kickboard: An opening of 3 15/16–7 7/8 in (100 mm x 200 mm) must be drilled in the front of the cabinet base to allow for conduit attachment.
- Cabinets with kickboard: A plinth depth of at least 2 3/8 in (60 mm) is required. Additionally, an opening of 3 15/16–7 7/8 in (100 mm x 200 mm) must be drilled in the base of the adjacent cabinet to allow for conduit attachment. This opening should be at least 1 in (25 mm) from the kickboard edge to allow optimal ventilation.

THROUGH AN ADJACENT CABINET

- A Ø2 1/4 in (Ø57 mm) notched connection hole must be drilled through the wall following the instructions in the 'Cabinet Preparation' section.
- Cabinets without kickboard: An opening of 3 15/16–7 7/8 in (100 mm x 200 mm) must be drilled in the base of the adjacent cabinet to allow for conduit attachment.
- Cabinets with kickboard: A plinth depth of at least 2 3/8 in (60 mm) is required. THROUGH THE FLOOR

- There is no minimum plinth height for ventilating the DishDrawer™ dishwasher through the floor under cabinets, but the space under the floor must be a sub-zone of the house, with adequate air circulation.
- A Ø2 1/4 in (Ø57 mm) connection hole must be drilled through the wall following the instructions in the 'Cabinet Preparation' section. Additionally, a Ø2 1/4 in (Ø57 mm) connection hole must also be drilled through the shelf, cabinet base, and floor to allow passage of the ventilation hose.
- The conduit is not required for this drain method.
- Ensure all opening edges are rounded and apply the supplied edge protector if necessary.
- Ensure the opening in the floor is adequately sealed.
Install the Trim Fixture
We recommend attaching the trim fixture when installing your DishDrawer™ dishwasher in an 18 7/8 in (480 mm) cavity to conceal any visible gap between the countertop and the chassis.
- Align the fixture piece with the chassis, ensuring the arrow points forward, then snap the tabs firmly into place.
- Ensure the ends of the tabs are not pushed into the chassis.
- Check that the trim seal is facing forward and lies flat under the fixture piece.
Prepare External Ventilation
INSTALL VENTILATION HOSE ON DISHDRAWER™ DISHWASHER
- Turn the elbow at the rear of the product left or right, depending on your ventilation location.
- Firmly push the ventilation hose onto the elbow to secure it.
CUT THE DUCT
Cabinets with kickboard only
- Unscrew the upper duct cover and set it aside.
- On a protected surface, carefully cut and remove the duct clips as illustrated. Reinstall the upper cover.
Push Product into Cavity
For attachment using the fixture piece method:
- Attach the four side fixture pieces to the DishDrawer™ dishwasher, aligning fixture piece A with slot A and fixture piece B with slot B. Ensure the ends of the fixture pieces are not pushed into the chassis.
- Push the product into the cavity, routing the hoses as you push to avoid crushing or kinking them.
FIX VENTILATION HOSE TO CABINETS
VENTILATION THROUGH CABINETS
Cabinets without kickboard
Route the ventilation hose to the opening and firmly push onto the conduit to secure. Push the conduit onto the cabinets and secure with the four supplied screws.
Cabinets with kickboard
Route the ventilation hose to the opening and firmly push onto the conduit to secure. Place the conduit into the opening and insert the fixture piece into the ventilation slot. Secure with the five supplied screws.
VENTILATION THROUGH FLOOR
Route the ventilation hose through the floor. Ensure any excess hose is removed.
Install Custom Panel
- Remove the two side rods by turning them a quarter turn towards the front of the product. Pull outward to remove the rod.
- Gently pull the fixture piece downward and outward from the DishDrawer™ dishwasher and disconnect the pause contact module and ground wire. Remove the pause contact module from the rear of the fixture piece.
- On the rear of the panel, mark the center and align the base of the fixture piece with the base of the panel.
- Attach the fixture piece to the panel using a minimum of 3 screws on each side.
- Attach the pause contact module to the panel as illustrated. Before attaching, ensure the pause contact module is oriented correctly, without contact with the fixture piece.
- Risk of electric shock: To ground the panel fixture piece, connect the product's ground wire to one of the tabs. All custom metal components (e.g., handle) protruding from the rubber seal must also be grounded.
- Reconnect the pause contact module to the slot UI 1 of the wash controller, as illustrated. Reconnect the ground wire to the panel fixture piece before installing the panel onto the product.
- Reinsert the two side rods for each drawer by pushing them inward and turning them a quarter turn backward to secure the panels in place.
- Insert a star head screwdriver into the hole above the side rod and turn to adjust panel alignment. The maximum travel distance is ± 1/16 in (2 mm). Repeat on the other side, if necessary. Ensure the minimum clearance of 1/16 in (2 mm) is maintained.
Fix Appliance to Cabinets
METHOD A: USING FIXTURE PIECES
- Partially open the drawer and remove the first trim screw cover.
- Attach the appliance to the cabinets using the fixture pieces. Pre-drilling may be necessary depending on the cabinet material.
- Reinstall the screw cover and repeat for the remaining fixture pieces.
METHOD B: BY REMOVING DRAWER
- Open the drawer and push the two locking tabs backward to release it.
- Lift the drawer off the slides and set it aside carefully on a protected surface. Push the slides inward.
- Take care not to pull the drawer too far out to avoid tension on the hoses. Where possible, protect the bottom of the tub to prevent damage.
- Fix the appliance to the cabinets using the three fixture locations in the tub. Ensure the acoustic insulation is reinstalled correctly.
- Before reinstalling the drawer, ensure the hoses are not kinked. Reinstall the drawer onto the slides and engage it in place using the two locking tabs.
Plumbing and Electrical Connections
VERTICAL DRAIN HOSE INSTALLATION Ø38 MM
- Install the drain hose support on the rear wall, as close as possible to the underside of the countertop. Refer to 'Considerations for Plumbing and Electrical Connections' for minimum installation heights.
- Pass the two hoses through the support guide and place them into the vertical hose. Ensure the hoses are not inserted more than 4 3/4 in (120 mm) into the vertical hose to prevent used water from being siphoned into the tub.
- Connect the water supply hose to the faucet and hand-tighten. Using a wrench or pliers, turn an additional 180° to secure. Avoid overtightening.
- Do not turn on the water supply. The DishDrawer™ dishwasher must be powered on for the flood protection feature to be active.
- Plug in the product.
SINK DRAIN/WASTE TEE INSTALLATION
- Install the drain hose support on the rear wall, as close as possible to the underside of the countertop. Refer to 'Considerations for Plumbing and Electrical Connections' for minimum installation heights.
- Insert the metal tie onto the hose before passing the hose through the support guide and installing the supplied hose connector. Secure with the metal tie. Ensure the hose fits straight into the connector, removing any excess drain hose if necessary. Do not shorten the water supply hose.
- Unblock or drill the waste tee before attaching the connector to the sink drain or waste tee.
- Connect the water supply hose to the faucet and hand-tighten. Using a wrench or pliers, turn an additional 180° to secure. Avoid overtightening.
- Do not turn on the water supply. The DishDrawer™ dishwasher must be powered on for the flood protection feature to be active.
- Plug in the product.
SIMPLE ANTI-SIPHON INSTALLATION
- Install your simple anti-siphon assembly onto the countertop, as illustrated. Refer to 'Considerations for Plumbing and Electrical Connections' for minimum installation heights.
- Insert the metal tie onto the hose before attaching the drain hose to the supplied hose connector and installing the anti-siphon assembly. Ensure the hose fits straight into the connector, removing any excess drain hose if necessary.
- Unblock or drill the waste tee before attaching to the sink drain or waste tee.
- Connect the water supply hose to the faucet and hand-tighten. Using a wrench or pliers, turn an additional 180° to secure. Avoid overtightening.
- Do not turn on the water supply. The DishDrawer™ dishwasher must be powered on for the flood protection feature to be active.
- Plug in the product.
Installer Checklist
TO BE COMPLETED BY INSTALLER
Installation
- Verify all parts are installed correctly and securely.
- Ensure the DishDrawer™ dishwasher is securely fastened and the drawer can open and close easily, without any resistance.
- Ensure the panel is correctly installed on the DishDrawer™ dishwasher.
- Ensure all packaging or tapes applied to the racks and spray arm are removed.
- Ensure the spray arm is in place, correctly installed, and rotates freely.
- Ensure the pause contact module is installed securely and functions correctly.
Plumbing
- Ensure knock-out holes or drain connection plugs have been pierced and the drain connection has been made.
- The drain hose connection must not support the weight of excess hose. Extend the drain hose as much as possible to prevent sagging. Place any excess drain hose on the dishwasher side relative to the upper loop.
- Ensure the water supply hose is fitted with the supplied rubber washer and is tightened.
- If connecting the drain hose to the sink drain, ensure the upper loop is at least 150 mm above the drain hose connection.
- Models with water softener: adjust the water softener setting from the default setting, based on your region's water hardness. Refer to your user guide.
- Ensure the water supply is turned off until the electrical supply is connected and activated. The DishDrawer™ dishwasher must be powered on for the flood protection feature to be active.
Electrical
- Ensure all electrical tests are performed in accordance with local regulations.
Test Run
- Restore power and turn on the water valve, then open the drawer. You should hear a beep and see a program indicator light up on the control panel.
- Add three cups of water into the drawer.
- Navigate to RINSE and start the program.
- Repeat for the other drawer.
- Once the RINSE cycle is complete, ensure the dishwasher has operated and drained water correctly.
- Verify the water supply is correctly shut off.
- Check that drain connections are leak-free.
- If the site is left without electrical power after installation is complete, ensure the water supply is turned off to prevent flooding.

- Ensure the power cord is plugged in and the appliance is switched on.

- Ensure no items are preventing closure, such as hoses or drawer locks.
Water around supply and drain connections.
- Check that hoses, fittings, and existing plumbing are leak-free.
- Ensure the rubber washer and hose clamp are installed correctly.
Product tips.
- Ensure the product is secured to the cabinets.
Front panels are misaligned with adjacent cabinets.
- Ensure cabinets are square.
- Readjust door panels using the door adjustment screws. Refer to page 17 for instructions.
- Re-secure the DishDrawer™ dishwasher to the cabinets.
