Razor EcoSmart Cargo Adult Electric Utility Scooter

Owner's Manual

Introduction

The Razor EcoSmart Cargo is designed for adult users and should be ridden responsibly by mature and responsible riders, exercising caution and respecting applicable laws. This electric utility scooter is a chain-driven model, building on Razor's experience in motorized scooter technology.

Riders must understand the risks associated with any wheeled product and take precautions to minimize risks of falls, impacts, or other problems. Users are responsible for knowing and adhering to local laws regarding scooter use and for assessing and minimizing risks associated with riding conditions such as darkness, fog, rain, snow, ice, or electrical storms. Razor strongly recommends wearing a proper helmet to minimize potential head injuries.

This scooter is recommended for riders aged 18 and older. Riders must respect and adhere to all locally applicable laws and rules.

Safety Warnings

Riding the EcoSmart Cargo presents potential risks. Certain conditions may cause equipment failure. Like any riding product, the EcoSmart Cargo has inherent hazards. Riders must recognize that injury or death can occur even with safety equipment.

Inflating the Tires

Tires may lose pressure during shipping. Always inflate tires to the correct PSI before first use. Lower air pressure can result in shorter ride time. Periodically check tires and reinflate as needed.

Use a bicycle-style tire pump equipped for a Schrader-type valve. Inflate tires to the correct PSI indicated on the tire sidewall. Replace the valve cap.

WARNING: Do not use the scooter until tires are inflated to the correct PSI. Failure to do so may damage the scooter and void the warranty.

WARNING: Do not overinflate tires, as this could damage the tires or wheels.

Note: If using a gas station air supply, use very short bursts and ensure the pressure gauge is working. Release excess pressure immediately if overinflated.

Removing the Passenger Seat

Required Tool: Phillips Screwdriver.

  1. Pull the strap on the passenger seat.
  2. Open the storage compartment.
  3. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the six screws securing the storage compartment and passenger seat to the rear frame. Remove both and store for future use. Reinstall by reversing steps 1-3.

Note: The passenger seat must be removed before basket installation. The seat and basket cannot be installed simultaneously.

Installing the Basket

Required Tool: 5 mm Allen Wrench.

  1. Slide the basket hooks under the crossbar on the rear frame.
  2. Align the hole in the basket with the hole on the rear frame. Insert the washer and bolt through the basket and bracket on the rear frame.
  3. Using a 5 mm Allen wrench, tighten the bolt until the basket is securely attached.

  2. Turn the product OFF by pressing the power button (A) for two seconds.

WARNING: The brake can cause skidding. Practice in an open area to familiarize yourself with the brake function. Avoid skidding to a stop, as it can cause loss of control or damage the rear tire. The scooter cuts power to the motor when the brake is applied.

Note: Practice riding only in wide open areas clear from obstacles. Impacting wheels against hard surfaces can damage them.

Changing the Speed Level

Speed levels are controlled on the display. The display is activated when the power is ON. Practice in an open area free from obstacles until familiar with changing speed levels.

To change speed levels:

Note: Speed levels reset to 0 each time the electric scooter is powered OFF.

Repair and Maintenance

Turn power button OFF before beginning any repair or maintenance.

Adjusting the Brake

Required Tool: 5 mm Allen Wrench.

  1. To adjust brake cable tension, thread the brake lever adjuster in or out 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
  2. If the brake has too much slack, loosen the rear anchor bolt with a 5 mm Allen wrench, pull the brake cable tight, and re-tighten the bolt. The distance of the brake wire between the cable end and anchor bolt should be between 37 mm and 44 mm.

WARNING: The brake can cause skidding. Practice in an open area to familiarize yourself with the brake function. Avoid skidding to a stop, as it can cause loss of control or damage the rear tire.

Chain and Rear Wheel Replacement

Required Tools: 5 mm Allen Wrench, Phillips Screwdriver, Two (2) 19 mm Wrenches.

  1. Using a 5 mm Allen wrench, remove the two bolts from the brake caliper. Remove and set aside.
