Positioning and Wearing the Invia Motion NPWT Pump
Positioning:
- Upright: Image showing the pump held upright.
- Laying with display side up: Image showing the pump laying with the display facing upwards.
- Upside down: Image showing the pump held upside down.
- Laying with display side down: Image showing the pump laying with the display facing downwards.
Wearing:
- Shoulder strap: Image of the shoulder strap.
- Belt strap: Image of the belt strap.
If placed in an inappropriate position or when canister is full, "Canister full" notification will appear and Invia Motion canister/tubing set must be changed to continue the therapy.
Changing the Invia Motion Canister/Tubing Set
Acoustic signals are muted by pressing the ? button.
- Wash hands and prepare clean paper towel or tissue.
- Remove the Invia Motion NPWT pump from the carrying case. Switch the Invia Motion NPWT pump off by pressing and holding the button for 3 seconds. Press only once.
- Position the clamp next to the quick-connector and close the clamp on the pump tubing and also close the clamp on the dressing tubing. [Clamp open] [Clamp closed]
- Disconnect the Invia Motion NPWT pump tubing from the dressing tubing by pressing on the sides of the Quick-connector. Use a paper towel or tissue to cover the tip of the used tubing to protect against wound fluid leakage.
- Detach the full canister/tubing set by rotating the canister to the left.
- Wash hands.
- Obtain and open a new Invia Motion canister/tubing set package. CAUTION: Do not use an Invia Motion canister/tubing set if the sterile packaging is damaged or has expired. Make sure the correct canister is used: Ref 087.4016. Contact your healthcare professional if the correct canister is not available.
- Remove the canister/tubing set from the packaging and attach it to Invia Motion NPWT pump.
- Connect the Invia Motion NPWT pump tubing to the dressing tubing. Push together until you hear a click.
- Open the clamp on the dressing tubing. Also make sure the clamp on the pump is open.
- Switch the Invia Motion NPWT pump on by pressing the button. Slide the Invia Motion NPWT pump into the carrying case.
- Ask your clinician how to properly dispose of a used canister/tubing set.
