Power Precautions
- Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or adaptors. This may cause fire or electric shock. Refer to the power specifications section of the manual and/or the power supply label on the product for voltage and amperage information.
- Place power-supply cords so they are not likely to be walked on or pinched. Pay attention to cords at the plug end, wall outlets, and where they exit the appliance.
- Never insert metallic objects into open parts of the apparatus. This may cause electric shock.
- Never touch the inside of the apparatus to avoid electric shock. Only a qualified technician should open the apparatus.
- Ensure the power cord is firmly seated. Pull the plug, not the cord, when unplugging. Do not touch the power cord with wet hands.
- If the apparatus does not operate normally (unusual sounds or smells), unplug it immediately and contact an authorized Samsung dealer or service center.
- To protect the apparatus from lightning storms or for long periods of unattended use, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system.
- Accumulated dust can cause electric shock, leakage, or fire due to sparking, heat generation, or insulation deterioration.
- Use only a properly grounded plug and wall outlet. Improper grounding may cause electric shock or equipment damage (Class I Equipment only).
- To turn off the apparatus completely, disconnect it from the wall outlet. Ensure the wall outlet and power plug are readily accessible for quick disconnection.
Installation Precautions
- Do not place the apparatus near or over radiators, heat registers, or in direct sunlight.
- Do not place vessels containing water on the apparatus, as this can result in fire or electric shock.
- Do not expose the apparatus to rain or moisture.
- Contact an authorized Samsung service center if installing in locations with heavy dust, extreme temperatures, high humidity, chemical substances, or where it operates 24 hours a day (e.g., airports, train stations). Failure to do so may lead to serious damage.
- Do not expose the apparatus to dripping or splashing.
Mounting the TV on a Wall
- Follow manufacturer's instructions exactly. Incorrect mounting can cause the TV to slide or fall, leading to serious injury or damage.
- To order a Samsung wall mount kit, contact a Samsung service center.
- Samsung Electronics is not responsible for damage or injury if you install the wall mount yourself or use a non-VESA or non-specified wall mount.
- Mount on a solid wall perpendicular to the floor. Contact your dealer for information on mounting to surfaces other than plasterboard. Mounting on a ceiling or slanted wall may result in severe personal injury.
- Fasten all four VESA screws when installing a wall mount kit.
- For kits using only two top screws, ensure it's a Samsung kit that supports this installation type.
- Do not mount the TV at more than a 15-degree tilt.
- Standard wall mount kit dimensions are shown in the Quick Setup Guide.
- Do not install the wall mount kit while the TV is turned on to avoid electric shock.
- Do not use screws longer than standard or non-VESA compliant screws, as they may cause internal damage.
- Screw length may vary for non-VESA standard mounts.
- Do not overtighten screws to prevent product damage or falling, which could lead to injury. Samsung is not liable for such accidents.
- Always have two people mount the TV. For 82-inch or larger models, four people are recommended.
Providing Proper Ventilation
Maintain at least 4 inches (10 cm) between the One Connect Box and other objects (walls, cabinets) for proper ventilation. Failure to do so may result in fire or product issues due to increased internal temperature.
- When installing with a stand or wall mount, use only parts provided by Samsung Electronics. Using parts from other manufacturers may cause difficulties or injury.
Safety Precautions
- Caution: Pulling, pushing, or climbing on the TV may cause it to fall. Prevent children from hanging on or destabilizing the TV. This can cause serious injury or death. Follow all safety precautions in the included Safety Flyer. Consider purchasing and installing an anti-tip device as described in "Preventing the TV from falling."
- WARNING: Never place a television set in an unstable location. It may fall, causing serious personal injury or death. Many injuries, especially to children, can be avoided by taking simple precautions:
- Always use cabinets, stands, or mounting methods recommended by Samsung.
- Always use furniture that can safely support the television set.
- Always ensure the television set is not overhanging the edge of the supporting furniture.
- Educate children about the dangers of climbing on furniture to reach the television set or its controls.
- Route cords and cables so they cannot be tripped over, pulled, or grabbed.
- Never place a television set in an unstable location.
- Never place the television set on tall furniture (e.g., cupboards, bookcases) without anchoring both the furniture and the television set to a suitable support.
- Never place the television set on cloth or other materials between the television set and supporting furniture.
- Never place items that might tempt children to climb (toys, remote controls) on top of the television or furniture.
If relocating an existing television set, apply the same considerations.
- When relocating or lifting the TV for replacement or cleaning, do not pull out the stand.
Preventing the TV from Falling
Wall-anchor (not supplied)
- Firmly fasten brackets to the wall using appropriate screws. Confirm screws are securely attached. Additional materials like wall anchors may be needed depending on the wall type.
- Firmly fasten brackets to the TV using appropriately sized screws. Refer to the Quick Setup Guide for screw specifications.
- Connect the TV brackets and wall brackets with a durable, heavy-duty string and tie it tightly.
- Install the TV near the wall to prevent it from falling backward.
- Connect the string so that the wall brackets are at the same height as or lower than the TV brackets.
Precautions when installing the TV with a stand
Avoid placing the stand on the back part of the table surface. Failure to do so may cause the motion sensor at the bottom of the TV not to work properly.
Operation
- This apparatus uses batteries. Dispose of batteries properly according to local environmental regulations. Contact local authorities for disposal or recycling information.
- Store accessories (remote control, etc.) out of reach of children.
- Do not drop or strike the product. If damaged, disconnect the power cord and contact a Samsung service center.
- Do not dispose of remote control or batteries in fire.
- Do not short-circuit, disassemble, or overheat batteries.
- CAUTION: Danger of explosion if batteries are replaced with an incorrect type. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
- WARNING: TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF FIRE, KEEP CANDLES AND OTHER ITEMS WITH OPEN FLAMES AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT AT ALL TIMES.
Caring for the TV
- To clean, unplug the power cord and wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use chemicals like wax, benzene, alcohol, thinners, insecticide, air fresheners, lubricants, or detergents, as they can damage the appearance or erase printing.
- Wipe the exterior and screen carefully with a soft cloth to prevent scratches.
- Do not spray water or liquid directly onto the TV. Liquid entering the product may cause failure, fire, or electric shock.
Internet Security
Samsung implements measures to protect Internet-compatible Smart TVs against unauthorized access and hacking, including encryption of sensitive communications and controls to prevent unauthorized application installation. However, no Internet-connected device is completely secure. Take additional steps to safeguard your TV, secure your Internet connection, and minimize risk:
- Install software updates promptly when released by Samsung to improve security. Enable Auto Update in the TV's menu ( > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update > Auto Update). Accept software downloads and updates when prompted.
- Secure your wireless access point and network:
- Use a unique password for your wireless access point's management settings.
- Implement standard encryption (e.g., WPA2) on your wireless access point.
- Secure your wireless network with a hard-to-guess password.
- Ensure your access point's firewall is enabled.
- Keep all Internet-connected devices behind your network's firewall.
- Use the standby mode button on your access point or modem to disconnect your home network from the Internet when not in use.
- Use strong passwords for all Internet accounts (Netflix, Facebook, etc.).
- Do NOT accept unexpected messages on your TV screen requesting permission to link a device or enable a remote session.
- Do not visit suspicious websites or install suspicious programs. Install only authorized apps from Samsung via Samsung Smart Hub.
